Thank you very much!

I doubt that there will be to much updates in the summer images/smilies/sad.gif Maybe this winter... We'll see..

Btw, Im going to buy a Niva rear axle. It is around 65mm wider (on each side, that is ~130 mm total) than the original axle images/smilies/wink.gif plus Im going to leave the 35 mm spacers as well, plus et12 rims (factory et20) so my total track width is going to be around 10cm plus on each side from factory images/smilies/smile.gif Bodywork is going to be needed I think images/smilies/smile.gif

The axle needs work though, the spring seat (or what its called) is not exactly at the point I need it, so it has to be rewelded. Also the niva has 5x160 (?) and Im going to convert it to 4x100.

Thats it for now.

Bought some rare rims, not for the racecar, but for a future "streetfighter" Lada 2101. Its going to get the suspension from the present car, and the old lada engine, but with full interrior, only one racing seat, and a steering wheel. No blinging, just the lowering and the rims, so its going to be kind of a sleeper. Well maybe not, with these rims... images/smilies/smile.gif

About the rims, they are of a fiat simca, 13x6.5 et6.5. Not bad. And quite lightweight images/smilies/wink.gif Im loving the oldschool design, the color is just a test, but its not the exact color I want:

http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/589/alapszin.jpg

PS-ed color:
http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/3093/joszin.jpg

Some more pics:

http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/8164/img8479d.jpg

http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/6023/img8481t.jpg

By the way, it begs for 175/50 tyres... These are /70, and they are way to tall... images/smilies/sad.gif

Thats it, cheers images/smilies/wink.gif

What iot also begs for are some VFTS arches images/smilies/wink.gif

Nice rims, there is a brand new punto with very similiar (possibly the same) rims on about 2 km's away from my house. Always thought they looked nice, only they were far too tiny under the new hulking car images/smilies/smile.gif

I like the idea of a street lada, it's not often you see a fast one of them out and about images/smilies/smile.gif

Sooo, my over fenders are here. I ordered it from ebay, this type:

http://i.ebayimg.com/19/!BP6YMsw!Wk~$(KGrHgoOKjcEjlLmYj(RBJ2KrygHMg~~_12.JPG

Here is it on a car:
http://i.ebayimg.com/19/!BP6YNkwBmk~$(KGrHgoOKjQEjlLmVoWOBJ2Kr253Ow~~_12.JPG

Test fitted it on the car, looks awesome, I'l need to cut it, and bend it a little bit, but it looks the business images/smilies/wink.gif

You really are a vfts fan, arent you images/smilies/tongue.gif

Its to common here, on every rally event the 20-30% of the cars are VFTS lada's, so it is associated with rallying, and I wanted something different. I always loved the ae86 ke70 etc, they all have these type of flares, so thats why images/smilies/mrgreen.gif

Btw, I want to copy these, and make it out of carbon... images/smilies/wink.gif

^ Your wish is my command!...................NOT! images/smilies/smile.gif

Anyway, some crappy pics taken with my cellphone:

First fitting (ducktape powa), I love it tbh! Gonna try to copy these with carbon, we'll see if we succeed... It would be more awesome in a carbon finish images/smilies/wink.gif BTW: front ~50 wider, read ~60 wider images/smilies/wink.gif Cant wait to fill in the arches images/smilies/smile.gif images/smilies/smile.gif

I suggest using a heatgun to bend the arches, and then rivet them into place to get the shape you want images/smilies/smile.gif

They look good, but I was hoping they would be wider images/smilies/smile.gif

They are made from fiberglass, so heating wount help, but they bend quite well, so its not going to be a problem! But first the arches will need to be cut etc etc...

Yeah, for now this will be enough widening, when the arches will be filled, its going to be ~25cm wider than the standard lada suspension images/smilies/smile.gif Not bad! images/smilies/mrgreen.gif

heating fiberglass helps a lot with bending it. It will straighten out eventually, but if you rivet it down, it will hold the shape and not straighten. I used it on the grille panel on my car, which is fiberglass, and it worked wonders.images/smilies/smile.gif

when you cut the rear, cut the outer skin first then pull the inner wheel well out to match. then weld them together. once welded you can trim off the extra and leave a nice edge. (thats how I did mine) good luck!

Zola's car is coming together now, changed all the old rubish bushings to new hard plastic ones.

Old, shitty, distroyed:
http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/4564/zolaszilent3.jpg

New, shiny, green images/smilies/biggrin.gif :
http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/8796/zolaszilent1.jpg

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/301/zolaszilent2.jpg

Also, reinforced the A-arms:
http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/8296/zolaszilent4.jpg

I got my self an oilcooler with fan:
http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/6910/olajhuto.jpg

And a new racing fuel cell, witch will be mounted much much lower than the original:
http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/3983/tanko.jpg

Also hopefully, I'm buying a 2101 in a few weeks, for winter fun, and well, to go to any small event, so I can finaly drive as well, not only build build build.... Everything from my racecar will go in it, engine, new sport tranny, suspension, but I want it 'sort of' streetlegal, so the interrior will remain factory, except for two bucketseats, and my steeringwheel. So it will be much heavier than the racecar, but well.. Maybe later on ? :wack: The chassis is 34 years old, so the car isnt rust free, thats for sure, but its in a fairly good condition. Some metalwork is going to be needed before I put it to the test images/smilies/smile.gif

So from this:
http://www.zsiguli.hu/images/cikk109_21011.jpg

To hopefully something like this:
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/4770/34641920090819174754.jpg

Ah its so beautiful... images/smilies/sad.gif Well the one I'm looking forward isnt in such a good shape images/smilies/smile.gif But if it survives the winter without any major damage, and I will have enough money, it will look like this one day

Thats it for now images/smilies/wave.gif

If you buy the 1200 lada, you absolutely HAVE to get a small hammer & sickle badge on the front of it images/smilies/biggrin.gif
