Default My little Sunfire =]

I can haz car. =] I just got my license this October, and my parents were kind enough to..."lend" me a car. All in all I just say its mine. Its nothing special, but I plan to buy it from my parents when I can so it'll officially be mine. And then I'm going to go crazy and add some nice things to it. images/smilies/mrgreen.gif until now this is my first baby.

She's a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire SE sedan, 2,189 cc 2.2 liters 4 in-line front transverse engine with 89 mm bore, 88 mm stroke, 9 compression ratio, overhead valve and two valves per cylinder, puts out 120 bhp (as of right now images/smilies/lol.gif ). She's not much on the power, but she's good on mpgs. 24 mpg city / 36 mpg highway - this we're talking from a car that's already 13 years old. That's pretty impressive, methinks, seeing as my mom's Mustang gets nearly the same as that and its only 2 years old! images/smilies/lol.gif

http://forums.finalgear.com/members/xicedlovexoxo-user30312/albums/my-car-photos/front-of-my-car-1995-pontiac-sunfire-943.jpg

http://forums.finalgear.com/members/xicedlovexoxo-user30312/albums/my-car-photos/then-theres-my-car-yes-covered-in-ice-on-a-cold-morning-942.jpg

I know those pictures aren't the best but that's essentially my car. Always cold and covered in ice. images/smilies/lol.gif Parents make me park her outside the garage, like she's a bad dog being scolded. images/smilies/cry.gif She's had some troubles in the past, we bought her used in 1997 and she was my mom's until March when mom got her new Mustang. The only reason we got that Mustang is because poor old Sunny broke a timing chain and dad didn't have time or money enough to repair her fast enough. But by the end of summer she was working again and just in time too, cos I took my license test in her (both of them cos I failed the driving portion once images/smilies/lol.gif ) and now she's mine. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

She's been crashed twice before, too; images/smilies/cry.gif mom's fault. Mom's a bad driver, I'm not. I take good care of my Sunny. God knows when I'll get another car, if I ever do images/smilies/rolleyes.gif, so I damn well better make my Sunny last...

I'll post more pictures when I can. If anyone's looking to invest in a new car I say go for a Sunfire cos they're good cars. No single car is perfect and there's always going to be some sort of problems with whatever car you choose to buy. Doesn't mean its always the car's fault, though images/smilies/dry.gif so give the car a break once in a while...they deserve it as much as we do images/smilies/lol.gif

images/smilies/lol.gif I need to get a picture of her stuck in a snow drift. Now, that would be hilarious. Doubtless it'll happen too, once it snows here...

My friend had one of those. It got stuck in second gear (well, all the other gears didn't work, yes standard trans) and we had to drive home from work all in second gear.

sounds like a mishap we've had with one of my friends "project" cars...aka, home grown carbage. images/smilies/lol.gif

Anyway, my sunny is automatic, which is good for me cos I'm not use to a manual yet. images/smilies/driving.gif after all I did just get my license a couple months ago. images/smilies/mrgreen.gif

I have more pictures of sunny I just went and took today - they were done with my camcorder's photo option, which isn't very good. I'd use my digital camera which is better but I have no way of charging its batteries right now images/smilies/cry.gif So until then this is as good as it really gets...

Not bad for a first car, i mean for a 13 year old car, it looks quite decent images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Thank you! images/smilies/smile.gif Sunny's seen a lot. She's been crashed twice, she's had a bleeding dog stuffed in her and rushed to the vet, she's had coffee spilled in her numerous times, her entire engine's been taken apart more than once, and she's been power-slided. images/smilies/mrgreen.gif Not to mention, the day we got her, I was 7 years old and I spilled a soda all over myself and the back seat. Mom went ballistic. images/smilies/lol.gif

Nice car (for what it is). Reminds me of my 1992 Cavalier... 170,000 miles when I gave here away to family; strong little bugger she was.

That may not have required a full engine-apart maneuver. Actually, two times it was a rebuild due to crashing damage, and this summer the timing chain broke so dad had to dismantle the entire thing to fix it. images/smilies/cry.gif I still can't shake the image of walking into the garage every morning and seeing her, sitting all alone in the far corner, all broken and torn apart. I could swear I could see tears outta her little eyes headlights. images/smilies/cry.gif

We'll just call the interior "mocha" - that's what its been covered in over the years. images/smilies/lol.gif Though it doesn't look too extremely neat in there, the seats are at least comfortable images/smilies/mrgreen.gif

So Sunny and I had a scare today!! images/smilies/eek.gif A bus almost ran us over. images/smilies/cry.gif I really do hate buses. They never signal when they're going to pull out and they never seem to check for people coming when they do go to pull out.

EDIT: Oh, and maybe tomorrow I will get a nice picture of her cute little face during school. images/smilies/biggrin.gif Its kind of hard to do when she's at home, because I don't fit between her and the garage and my parents would get suspicious if I were to move her just for a picture. images/smilies/lol.gif

(backs away slowly)

This sounds like a great time to start a group called "I think my car is a person". You and katwalk can be the starting members.
