I picked this up a couple weeks ago. It's a carbon black '02 M3. 6 speed, black leather interior.
It has 19" HRE 545r's, Ground Control coil-overs with Koni Yellows, Stoptech big brake kit up front, Active Autowerkes exhaust, K&N intake, and a retuned ECU. I just had a Pioneer AVIC-Z1 installed, along with a new alarm, JL 12w3v3 woofer, and a 250/1 amp. I'm bringing it back in (hopefully this next week) to have the sub box recovered in black. They're going to remake the cover piece so there's not a huge seam down the middle. Enjoy: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -Lee

The rims are bit...well, pimpish. But nice car overall! I think that's one the last models before they became uglified a-la M5.

A beautiful car! But why don't you paint/change the rear brake calipers?

Very nice!
Black is by far the best colour for any BMW and those wheels look really good on the car, polished lip is the hotness. I still prefer the OEM ones though. Is it legal to have your front side windows tinted so dark in your country btw? In Finland it isn't and I happen to live next to a police officer.. |

The wheels look a tad too big IMO but the rest of it looks great.

Beautiful car! Love the carbon black color.
BTW, in case you didn't know, make sure your engine is OK. Some 2002 E46 M3s suffered from engine problems and BMW issued a recall: http://yoy.com/yoy/auto/m3_failintro.shtml Otherwise, great car!

BimmerFan, the rod bearing recall was done. Thanks for the heads-up, though.
I paid $29k US for it, with all of the modifications it currently has (minus the stereo and alarm). The 19" wheels are a necessary evil. I would rather have 18"s, since your selection of tires to choose from is exponentially higher. Unfortunately (depending on how you look at it), I don't think the 18"s will clear the calipers. MrLeon, window tinting laws here vary by state. In Texas you're allowed as dark as 30 or 35% on the front side windows if I remember correctly. You can have 20% on the back sides, and there's no limit for the rear window. Avanti, the rear brakes don't really need to be swapped out. In fact, the OEM front brakes are quite good on the M3, but the previous owner spent a lot of time with it on a track. I may, sooner or later, upgrade the rears as well, but it'll have to wait until I'm out of other things to spend money on. Otherwise, thanks for the compliments. I really do love the car. It's a massive improvement over the MKII Golf it replaced.

Mk II Golf to M3 is a nice step indeed.
Is this the first car you bought with mods alread on it? I have always been gunshy about buying a modded car and just wanted to know you opinion on dropping ~30K on a modded E46 M3... which has all those problems with suspension mods.
