My New Lame-mobile...

This as my last car was the epitome of everything you guys hate. This car is teh epitome of everything I hate. It's a FWD, 4-cyl, economy car.

It's a 1998 Honda Civic Si. I have put some motegi wheels on it and a new sterio, and that is all I'm doing. Hopefully in about 6-8 months I will beable to sell it and buy another El Camino.

And yes I know the rims are a bit ricerish, but it beats the mismatched steelies I had on there when I bought it.

At least it's a 5-speed. Low mileage too.

Not bad, as far as car-to-get-to-work goes, but wait... if you hate it so much why did you buy it?

Lol, that`s a very valid question. It`s because my parents helped me pay for it, therefore they had most of the say in what I bought. And I actually don`t hate it as much as I make it sound like I do. I`m just bitter that I had to sell my El Camino.

I do not think of it as lame; It is cheap to run and maintain, gets you you where you need to go, and if you want, just a set of proper lowering springs will turn even that pokey car into a corner carver. Honda Civics are good cars that were (and still are) turned into bastard ricer mobiles by people with more money than logic.

That era Civic is a great car. My only complaint with your wheels is that they don't fit quite right -- look like you ended up raising your ride height.

But if you can lower the car an inch, I think it'll be VERY cool.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys.

I do really like the way it drives, the tires I have on the car grip the road like no tommorow. I have yet to have the car understeer, I'm afraid to try on public roads. Not a good idea.

And don't worry, I'm a sensible person, so no raping will be done to this car in the way of body kits and spoilers.

I would be VERY happy to have it...no reason to be so apologetic!
It looks good, and as other pointed out, it IS a good car with a lot of potential for fun.
Congrats, enjoy and have fun with it!

I don't see what's lame about it - nice, solid car, and there's plenty of potential in it. Congrats images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Once again, Thanks for the comments, I don't mean to sound like a spoiled brat when I say I don't like it. It's just, compared to my previous car, it's not really what I want. It's a great call and all, it just doesn't really suit me.

lol. Those were my first pair of shoes ever. Some people think it's weird, but I hang them from my mirror and I think it's awesome. It's also a good conversation starter when I'm giving someone a ride home that I don't really know. (I'm usually the DD if I have my car with me)

Nothing wrong with a good old Civic.

BTW, are you sure it's an SI model? Because it doesn't look it. And you said it had mismatched steelies? I don't know, hope you didn't get scammed.

Dude, nothing wrong with that. Just think of all the cash you're saving in gas money. Plus, like they said, some Tein Springs (I think H-Techs) would go a long way to make that thing a wicked handler. Just go and find yourself an autocross after images/smilies/smile.gif

Civic Si is a great car for what you're doing with it, economical and just a bit sporty. It's not completely boring, but it won't let you get into too much trouble.

At your age, the last thing you need is a 400hp+ V8, you just get tickets all the time.

Ya, It's the Si. It's got the V-tech under the hood and everything. The steelies had snowtires on them, and the origonal owner had F**ked the old rims. So that's why I don't have them.

Thanks for the consern.

@ Vette boss - very true... but it's still oh so apealing. images/smilies/mrgreen.gif

There is a 1968 El Camino for sale at a classic car dealer in Washington called Gio Cars, or something like that for sale with a 450hp 396 in it. Attached to a 4speed. I'm trying to save up for that. Or a Jeep Rubicon.

A daily don't need to be a crazy ass power house. I like the rims actually, like others said they will look better with a bit of lowering.

Solid fair choice - no probs with it in the slightest. Obviously when funds permit trade up but 'till then this is a really cool car.
