Yeah, but I want to check the wheels as well and they'll do it right there, no biggy. That too costs about 20-30 euro only.

It's the only thing preventing me from throwing up atm. It'll be gone once the car's been cleaned.

You should really consider ozone treatment for your car.. The rental of the device is about 60€ in here.

It's getting a good professional clean that guarantees to get rid of the smell. If it doesn't, you don't have to pay for it.

So you dont know what they are doing to it? it can be ozone treatment. It will make the odor disappear for sure.

I'll talk to them first, but I'd rather professionals deal with it anyway.

Man, that reminds me of the saga of Jerry Seinfeld and his funked up 5-Series.

Poor guy had to scratch the serial number off the engine block and leave it to be stolen for insurance money, and still nobody stole it ('cause it smelt so bad you see)!

Heh, well, looks like I won't be getting it cleaned if it's not really cheap, anyway since I can no longer smell it. Went for drinks with the redhead today and asked her about it, but she didn't smell anything.

Just fixed the flimsy door handle, had to remove the inner door panel, which is quite easy to do, once you figure out the system (hooray for downloadable manuals!). I also found out that the left headlamp won't go up and down when I fiddle with the dial but wasn't able to figure out where the problem is.

I have an appointment at a garage to replace the belts and tensioners along with the AC compressor (they confirmed it's the right type, as long as it works), water pump, oil filter and, of course, oil along with all the seals. All that for about 500-600 euro. I thought the water pump alone will be that much.

They took a look at the clutch and said the plate is good for another 100k, just have to get used to the pedal (which I already have), so that's another few hundred euros saved.

I'm taking it to a body shop on monday to fix the bumpers, it'll be there til wednesday, I'll also ask if they can replace one of the plastic trim pieces on the door that's all manky. If not, I'll have to call up some salvage yards.

Right now I'm calling up another place to ask when I can show up to get the wheels/steering wheel aligned and that will basically be it.

About a grand's worth to fix and bump up the resell price by two. Although I don't think I'll be getting rid of it.

I just attack it with a high pressure water cleaner (non-steam).

Be careful with that, Audi's really don't like water on the engine. I blew 2 coil packs in one shot like that.
