Default "Post Your Car" Forum Rules -- PLEASE READ!

First off, please go make sure you have your car(s) entered into your profile so that people can see them across the forum.

Second, please only make one thread per car here. One thread per user is preferred, but if you have multiple cars and you think lots of discussion will occur, then you can make a thread for each car.

You may only post cars that YOU OWN. Not your parents, not your brother/sister's, not your dog's-- YOUR OWN CAR. You are required to post a photo with your username and a random object on the car to prove your ownership. Failure to prove ownership will result in the loss of ability to post new threads, and/or a account ban.

If you are posting a new thread about your car, you MUST include a photo showing your forum username. Write it on paper, cardboard, a printout of your profile page, whatever. Just make that plainly visible on one of your photos.

Questions? Feel free to reply to this thread.

I think it'll be good if we ONLY allow YOUR car to be posted...not your parents or families etc etc...

It would be nice if I could get the image codes from my old posts to put them in here!images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Maybe open the old thread to let people copy them in edit before closing it, keep it open for a week?

How come? An SL65 is a lot faster than most of the cars on the road => You get where you are going a lot faster => More time to manage a forum. Simple images/smilies/tongue.gif

I AM NOT THE "MANAGER" OF THIS FORUM!!

In the past, people have asked if I really own an SL65 and I've gone along with it and replied something like - "Yeah, I posted pics of it in the Whats Your Car thread if your interested..." and had members searching for ages with no result haha! The fools!!

But you could... 1996 Viper for $9,500 Has minor side damage though, but you could fix that while you get your license.

Don't tear your pants, I was just commenting on the "fast car -> no time/interest for a forum" thing images/smilies/smile.gif And I know you don't have an SL65 images/smilies/tongue.gif

And isn't moderating basically some sort of managing, hence moderator = manager...on some level. But this is just playing with words and their meanings, don't take this seriously images/smilies/wink.gif

Heheh it's okay, I was just emphasising that I'm not a manager. Technically I "manage" but on forums, using the word "manage" sounds more like admin/owner type thing.

I'm not the sucker who pays the bills images/smilies/tongue.gif

Is that picture outdated? Because $15999 is alot to pay for 97-99 Legacy's, I think you can even get the newer Gen for that price.

you guys know what I drive, a VW 1300 "late looker" (signature).
Prolly building a 1776cc engine with double Dellorto/Webers this winter....

And I almost forgot, I'm buying another car this week:
http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/5429/81pz0.jpg
http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/934/82fu9.jpg
http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/2725/8axl2.jpg
http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/4149/8bcw0.jpg

1985 Golf II, 90hp, 1.6L, almost rustfree. $900 - so it's quite cheap. There is alot left of this car, it'll last a few years I'm sure ... but I'm only buying it cuz I'm putting awau the Beetle for the winter... )Poor "Molly")

Didn't you post pics of your family's E-Class in the "What's your car thread?" before? images/smilies/tongue.gif

This rule is a good idea I guess, but it also means I can't post on this forum. Our family of four has four cars, none of which is actually mine in the sense that I didn't pay for any of them and my name doesn't appear on the registration. Now in case of the R32 for instance I get the most seat time, by far. My mom and sis never drive it, last time my dad drove it was five weeks ago I believe and the couple of times a month he needs a car, he is happy using the other Golf or the Polo. What should I do? images/smilies/wink.gif

Meh who cares about technicalities and who the car is registered to. If you drive the car, POST IT! images/smilies/smile.gif

And yeah I have posted plenty of pics of my parents E and my bros car. But I made sure I told people the cars are not mine images/smilies/wink.gif

I just don't want the situation where people post pics of their parents and friends cars that are not actually theres in this specific section of the forum. And I'll post pics of our new E-Class when it gets here all the way from Germany....which will be a couple months from now.

Don't do it!! Unless you seriously don't care about driving manuals.

I know when you're young you'd do anything to get into a car, and would settle for any version. However, after a few weeks the joy melts away and you are left with a second rate car that you end up resenting.

Wait around until the version you want comes around. I was looking for a manual version of my car for six weeks until I found the perfect one in the paper. Now I couldn't be happier.8)

Well, actually, it's been 5.5 years since I bought the car, and I'm getting ready to buy a new one. I can't bear to let this one go though, it's given me nothing but loveimages/smilies/tongue.gif

I would preferably have it in white, in estate form with a manual gearbox however they are hard to come by and I won't be unhappy settling for an auto sedan version.
I know what you mean! It took my dad three months to find a Nissan Maxima (also white) with a manual transmission. He ended up buying it from half-way across the country (which is a long way when the country is Canada images/smilies/biggrin.gif) because that was pretty much the only one he could find. Don't settle! It may take a while to find just the right car, but it's well worth it!
