I've got several friends in the local miata community to back that one, one of which had his car fully built by Flyinmiata... and the damn thing still don't run right.
I have no plans to go crazy with it. I just bought the Forge Bypass Valve cause the stock one is known to leak. I just want some 15" summer rims and an intake. I will stop there.

Oh, and I just ordered a new Leather Shift Boot, cause mine started to crack.
I only have 38,000 miles on it. I am going to do my best to take care of it. images/smilies/smile.gif

Good man! Throw some Falken Azenis on those 15's. A friend of mine (very skilled driver) was PISSED last friday when he got beat at the auto-X by a jackson racing supercharged NB with DOT slicks and stock suspension. My friend car is the inverse of that, stock motored but heavily modified suspension.

You have an awesome car, enjoy it... and don't ever get rid of it. If you ever visit LA, let me know, we have an interesting group of enthusiasts down here.

Looks great, really nice pictures too.

Oh, and for what it's worth, the Mazdaspeed job was a USDM and JDM car only. Here in Europe (...well, the UK), we had the BBR MK1, but only a 'Sport' of the MK2.5s (which was essentially a VVT engine and bigger brakes IIRC).

A Miata is no muscle car to begin with...
And the twisty bit is said to be on a road leading UP to the Blue Ridge parkway.
The camera wouldn't show the incline ...if there is one.

At 15psi with meth injection I would expect a bit more speed especially considering how light the car is. Oh well I suppose I'll just get one and put an LSx in it images/smilies/tongue.gif

Exactly! Sheridan Road is a blast (Early morning or late at night) Little bumpy at spots but a fun drive down towards the city.

£1000 says once you get the car you wont bother. There's a lot more to these cars than power.

2nd'd (what is this, #2?).

Considering I grew up in/around the hot rodding "big inch v8! more power!" *Tim Allen grunt* you'd expect me to be the last person to hop in one of these and say "I really just don't give a damn about shoving a ton of power in it."

I really don't. I will eventually, but after shoving the better rubber, brakes, and suspension on the car I've got plenty in it. I've driven these things stripped out and with damn near 200whp in, while very fun, I still love mine with it's stock power. My form of "must have more HP" in this car seems to be "must find more grip and better handling!"

There is a hugely entertaining part of these cars when you give someone a run for their money on a road coarse or canyon and then you tell them "yeah, I'd be lucky to be pushing triple digit Wheel HP figures." images/smilies/lol.gif

There certainly is, and for me I love the feeling of grabbing the car by the scruff of the neck and revving the engine right up until the shift light is blinding me and telling me to change gear, and I love the balance of being able to be at WOT on the exit of a corner with no worries in the slightest.

The first thing anybody says when you say you drive an MX5 is...well actually it's a hairdresser joke usually. So is the second. But the third is usually ''is it turbo'd?'', and it's the same on car forums too, there seems to be some phallacy that FI or an engine swap makes these cars inexplicably 'better', and as subjective as it is...it just doesn't. I don't think most people actually realise just how capable these cars are with basic mods. The entertainment and theatrical value of the driving experience is much more important than the cock-wafting part IMO.

I do alot of highway driving where power is more than welcome. I also generally enjoy the feeling of brutal acceleration so I would be shoving a huge V8 into something like a Miata.

Yeah, I did not get my Miata to race in straight lines. (Though it is decently quick). I just love the twisties. Something my old RSX type S could not do, even after some suspension mods.

I would love to have a Miata, I'm just a bit worried whether I'd fit in one or not. I'm 6'2 and about 200 lbs... so I can imagine I'd probably fit, but it'd be close. images/smilies/lol.gif
