Update time! (sorry for the long delay, but the weather wasn't making it easy for me to work images/smilies/wink.gif)

Well we removed most of the rust, and fixed most of the holes. The only holes that are left are on the bottom of the car. I hope i can fixed that this week images/smilies/smile.gif

Also the fender that i ordered, is going to be delivered on this coming Friday images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Today i will get some "cheap" rims if i have them i will take some pics.

Here are some pics of the progress we made images/smilies/smile.gif

it's an old VW, they throw parts to your head if you look around enough

a friend is restoring a corrado G60 and a vento VR6, and he just browses the internet for people who sell stuff, and each time he goes to one, he returns with a trailer full of interior, bodypanels,... and won't have paid 200€

recently he bought a golf rallye engine for 50€ images/smilies/wacko.gif (ok, the G-lader was broken, but still)

Love the roll of tape still stuck to the car. images/smilies/tongue.gif

That's some good detailing work you've started on the rims! What did you use? And good work on patching up the rust holes, I can't see myself being any good at that.

hehe didn't noticed the roll of tape on the car till now images/smilies/biggrin.gif

and about the rims, i sprayed some kind of rim cleaner on the rim(s) (a cheap brand from the aldi images/smilies/mrgreen.gif) and let it do it's work for about 2/3 minutes.
then i took some kind of steel wool and started rubbing the aluminum of the rim.
when i was "done" with that, i took a high-pressure water sprayer and sprayed all the dirt of the rims.

I repeated that for 2 or 3 times and the result is getting better and better images/smilies/smile.gif
(i still need to do a lot on those rims, cleaning them, filling the holes (if there are holes on the rims) and then i think i give them a little paintjob)

Yeah, their website blows, but it's actually quite good. Jag owners/restorers have been using it for quite a while with excellent results.

Eastwood also makes some excellent chassis treatments.

nice thinking but we're gonna leave the diesel in for a while and BID112 is remotely thinking about putting a TDI in it, but not now anyways...
