Much better looking then the Echo we had here.

Anyhow that chassis and engine and trans has been around in one form or another since the dawn of time, so you should a zillion mile out of it.

Ah, we got the sedan version of that over here.

I can't believe how ugly it is.

But anyway, I am contemplating some simple tweaks for it. Any ideas? I'm thinking tyres, breaks and simple suspension stuff.

I always liked the Echo. There a lot better looking than the current Yaris on the outside and the interior doesn't look like it was made from plastic suppled by fisher price. Good stuff

I agree 100%. The new Yaris or the Auris isn't as nice. Toyota has really dropped the ball with their latest small cars. The new Yaris is too heavy and just not reliable enough for a small city car.

Went to actually try a current Yaris as well as a Prius out of pure boredom, and yeah, the current yaris feels pretty cheap inside with its slab of silver plastic on the center console. Wasn't much better to drive either if I'm honest.

I do sometimes wish for a proper rev counter though. Sigh.

You can fit an aftermarket tach, you know.

True, but it'd be weird having just a tach sticking out of the dash.......

Anyway, I've learnt to shift by feel now, so meh.

Stick it on top of your steering column, connect it to the OBD-II port, you're done.

You go numb to the dash after a while. Dunno about unreliable though, I work for a Toyota dealer here and im yet to come accorss a Yaris with any kind of reliability issue.

The electric steering makes them a bit more nervous and a bit over assisted I reckon.

Nah, I'm not saying they might be unreliable, just that the interior certianly feels a bit low-grade compared to its rivals.

On another note, a Blitz supercharger kit for the Echo would be awesome
