Default Codec Detectors for Mac?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to get an episode from 2003 to play correctly. As of now there is no audio, and I get a message saying that I need a codec. As I am on a mac, none of the codec detectors mentioned on the forum are working.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

VLC is the best, but if that fails you could always try Perian, which integrates into the Quicktime player.

Saying that, you need 10.4.7 or higher to run it.

VLC works best, obviously. Perian though is very useful for a couple of reasons and you should have it. If you want to watch Top Gear (or whatever) in Front Row, you can't use VLC for that decoding, so Perian helps with that.
