Default Corrupt torrent

The problem is me... Kinda, my college decided to start corrupting torrent files as they download (the torrent, not the package itself) It's not unheard of for college's to do this but mine just started sometime in this past week (all i torrent is TG) so needless to say I'm going to RAISE HELL, my school charges for internet, needless to say we should be able to do what we please seeing as how it's not free. mean time any ideas on how to get a clean torrent to use, once the file is downloaded I'm all good.

Thanks

Maybe have someone email the torrent file to you in a zip file? Would that work?

Get someone to send you the .torrent as a .txt inside of a .rar. Rename on your end, problem solved.

Isn't it so that good firewalls see this kind of masking?

Do you really think their firewalls are going to open up every known type of archive in real time to inspect their contents? I highly doubt it. On the very off chance that they did, you could use an encrypted zip file.

Dunno... just right click, save as, something other than .torrent, and maybe it works.
For added comfort associate the new ending you choose with the torrent prog..

No, that won't work. The system will filter based on the remote filename. No matter what you "save it as", the remote filename will always be the same.
