Default corrupted files?

I'm hoping one of you may be able to help me.

I always download the top gear episode and then put it on a DVD to watch it on my television.

I've had no problems except for the Top Gear Ground Force special and the new episode. Each one will play on my computer in VLC but when I try to put it in the dvd program i get a message saying the file is corrupted.

Is there a way to fix this? I would much rather watch them on my big tv rather than the computer screen.

Thanks

Thanks, but I think I fixed it.

I feel quite dumb now. I just realized I had been using my other computer in the past with a program that converts the files into a different type before putting them on the dvd.

Yes, your DVD player can't play .avi files, especially Xvid ones. Gotta encode them to plain MPEG in a .vob first. images/smilies/smile.gif

... I ask Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. "It comes with two," he says, pointing at my feet. "Learn to use them." Got it.
