Default Peole need to share their files...!!!

Cmon everybody, don't just use bittorrent to leech and not share any files with other auto nuts!! When I have a up/dl ratio of 350% in favor of uploaders, and people dl off of me at 25 kps without me getting anything back, something is wrong.

Bittorrent works off of sharing files. Don't share, it becomes worthless. So start sharing!!! images/smilies/smile.gif

bittorrent IS sharing, while leeching.

Your bandiwdth may be used up by your uploading. Try lowering your upload speed.

Or you maybe behind a firewall of some sort so you have trouble connecting to other users.

As far as I know Bit Torrent clients do not allow users to just leech. Users must upload to be able to download.

Set your upload speed to about 80% of your max upload speed. You want to have some free for the downloading (you need to have upload bandwidth free while downloading to confirm the packet was recieved - this is not just BT, this is the Internet).

But I agree, I wish people would leave their clients open more after they are done. I'd seed more, but my max upload (and download for that matter) is 25 KB/sec and I'm firewalled, so I'm not much help. images/smilies/sad.gif

*EDIT* - I just looked and found the problem. For most of them, Top Gear - 2003.12.14 especially, all but a few of the downloaders are firewalled which means they cannot connect to each other. On 2003.12.14, there are only 3 unfirewalled seeds and about 44 firewalled peers. images/smilies/wink.gif

So, if you want your downloads to be faster, forward those ports! images/smilies/smile.gif

... I ask Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. "It comes with two," he says, pointing at my feet. "Learn to use them." Got it.

Okay, but I've deleted the .torrents from some of the files I've d/l'ed. The only active torrent I have now is for Fifth Gear - 2003.12.22. How can I add the torrents back into the program so people can d/l from me? I'm not firewalled, so I can leave things on overnight n/p.

Just download the .torrent file again as long as you still have the ZIP file.

wow - now I know why you need people to keep seeding - I've been seeding the latest two 5th Gears for over 24 hours straight, and I son't think my U/L speed has dropped beneath 30 kb/s!! I didn't realize that the traffic around here was that much (at least for d/l'ing). Oh well images/smilies/biggrin.gif. Guess ABC's getting a workout images/smilies/smile.gif

I suspect that a lot of people are behind an ISP's firewall images/smilies/vampire.gif .
My ISP tried to convince me that it's for my own benefit and in the same breath he tries to charge me about three times as much if I don't want to be behind a firewall images/smilies/vampire.gif images/smilies/vampire.gif images/smilies/vampire.gif .
