Default Problem Downloading latest episode of Top Gear.

Hi people, I have problems of speed downloading the latest episode of Top Gear (I use Azureus), before the Top gear downloads were "banned" from this site the download speed in average was more than 15kbps/sec, now that I grabbed the torrent from another site the speed rarely goes up for more than 5kbps/sec and I don't like that, I don't know if the site really has an influence over the speed, but I had a lot of problems since I cannot download Top Gear Episodes here, something for solving these speed problems?, I need help! I checked my connection and it is ok.

(Sorry about my english, I'm from Colombia and I normally speak Spanish) images/smilies/oops.gif

I've just configured the firewall and for a while it came back to the normal download speed, but like 20 seconds later it was slow again.

Your english is fine images/smilies/smile.gif, as for the torrents, we're sorry for the slow speeds, there's nothing we can do about that, the torrent does suck. Maybe future torrents will speed up in the future. images/smilies/smile.gif

the place where you download the torrent can't make any difference in speed. It is actually exactly the same torrent images/smilies/wink.gif

but:
- What is the name of your bittorrent client?
- Does the client show anywhere that the port-forwarding thing is OK?
- Have you unblocked the port you use in your firewall (and by that i dont mean only allowing the bittorrent client access to the internet)? What firewall do you use?

A lot of people complained about speed. Maybe because it was on mininova, a lot of leechers connected and the speed fell.

even 20KB/s is pretty slow and sounds like a the client cant recieve any incoming connections. And if that's the case it gets way worse when many leechers are connected.

Try a different client. You may be using a old one.

If it's last night's ep and your getting a rejected by tracker, you may have gotten the one with the 2004 filename, same as the 2005 one but the 04 was removed from the tracker. So go to mininova and find the 6x5 ep with 2005 images/smilies/wink.gif

I actually thought, this one was speedier than ep 1-4...

So, my guess -> definatly your connection/firewall/client

And if you wanna have good speeds, DON'T download anything else... On my PC this is always the fastest.
And don't set your upload to anything more than 80 - 90% of your max upload (unless you know what traffic shaping is and use a special driver for it...)

I just went around it. I just used bt on my *nix box from across the country then downloaded it. It was a problem connecting to the tracker for me. But it auto switched when i switched to unix. Oh well I got it last night and watched it. Was worth the slight delay in recieving it.
