Default Problem with downloading speed

I´ve searched this forum for any help regarding the download speed and the first thing to do apparently, was to forward the BT ports but i don´t know how to do that. forgive me if i´m asking a stupid question...

Are you behind a router or what?

... I ask Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. "It comes with two," he says, pointing at my feet. "Learn to use them." Got it.

Sorry, my mistake, seems i don´t need to forward the ports if i´m not behind a router. The only thing i have is a cable modem and windows´ firewall is turned off, but still my downloads are incredibly slow or don´t even start

Hmm. It's possible your modem has a built in firewall.

Have you used BitTorrent before and ever had it work? Perhaps your ISP doesn't like BitTorrent (dunno what it's like in Guatemala).

It has worked before, and speeds have climbed to 10-15 kB/s (suprnova.org) , with suprnova files it is much faster but for some reason, with this site it is really slow
