Default problems with 05x05 TG

Hello all!!

I am having a problem when trying to create a dvd to watch of season 5,episode 5 of Top Gear. The video plays fine on my computer but my software (NERO7) will simply not "load" the file into itself to create a DVD. Hope someone here can help me out,but please keep in mind I am not a computer expert by any stretch.

Thanks!!

Welcome to the forums. Are you trying to burn a video DVD or a data DVD?

images/smilies/lol.gif By any streach, you aren't

Anyways, do you want to burn a DVD so you can watch it on your standalone DVD player, a "movie" DVD so to speak?

Pretty sure he means a video DVD, but I could be wrong.

But if I'm right, you'll need to use the "Nero Vision" program that comes with the Nero install you have. It'll take the video file and convert it to DVD video format. I've done it many, many times myself and it works great.

I've heard others having issues with this one. RiVER may be using a newer version of Xvid than you have or something.

Make sure you're up to date: http://files.viper007bond.com/software/latest-xvid.exe

I actually can't even get S05E05 to play! Not sure if this is a Vista issue or what. I've ran Gspot and it says I have the codec but yet it won't render video, just audio. Anyone else able to get this to play on Vista?

Errrr, I was thinking 10x05, not 5x05. Ignore that RiVER comment.

I was able to get it to play in VLC player, though it even seems to say that the file is corrupted.

Yeah, I've had this problem since I got the 5x05 file a few years back. It plays fine in VLC but initially it detects it as a corrupted file and offers to fix the index or whatever.

If you click no it will play fine but it seems like the file is somehow corrupted. Windows Media Player for instance won't play it on my comp.

It plays fine with whatever I have but there must be something wrong/different with 5x05 since it's a bit of a hassle.

Anyone know what's different about 5x05?

The episode plays just fine with Window's Media player, the only thing I've noticed is that if I hit stop or when the video runs out,I do get a message,on the video screen, not a pop up window "WARNING: NOTHING TO OUTPUT BFRAME DECODER LAG" . It's printed in a very blocky kind of 80's style font as well, almost as if someone added it by hand.
