It does need XviD
http://files.viper007bond.com/softwa...2-29082004.exe

download that, close WMP (if open), run the XviD exe and then play the vid in WMP images/smilies/smile.gif

you don't, once it's installed leave the Program Files alone.

Just open Window Media Player, and try to play the file again...

That's very weird, is WMP still trying to download a codec?
Try giving it a reboot.

I had a similar problem with this vid. GSpot rendering told me that it thought the vid was xvid, but that there were _some_ invalid streams in the avi. Mind you this was my 3rd download of it, so I'm pretty certain it was good.

My laptop ID'd it as Divx, interestingly, and it played fine in WMP and others.

I can only presume there's some kind of codec confusion going on on my desktop. images/smilies/mad.gif

Yeah, there would be, XviD is a like a mod to the DivX codec, so I'm told. images/smilies/smile.gif
