Default Sound and video not syncing

I tried watching a 720p (I think) video on my Acer Aspire One netbook, and the video keeps lagging behind the audio. Is this because the performance of the netbook is lacking, or some other issue?

What program did you use to watch it? Because most vide player have a setting that can set the audio track to match lag.
