Wait, engineering degree in brisbane... UQ? I so did first year a couple of years ago there! I'm going back next year to finish the remainder. Just getting some motorsports (debt) stuff out of my system so i can concentrate.

Do you trackday? I'm doing a double header in may at morgan park (25th) and darlington park (29th). Gonna flog the guys from the twincam.org forums.

This particular topic ended at the second post, so it's free to OT.

Yeah, that's where I'm doing my PhD and did my my Mechanical Engineering degree also. So showing a little bias here. But in all honesty, UWA is reagrded as one of the top four unis in AUS and has an excellent reputation. The Mechanical Engineering course is great (assuming that's what you want to do) and you can join the FSAE Motorsport team who are working wonders at the moment. I tutor a few labs for some units as well.

Cool, eng also has a social club called the UEC (University Engineers Club) http://www.uec.org.au that organises heaps of social events that are also known as TDPU's (thinly disguised piss-ups). Just an excuse to get drunk in other words.

Haha yeah sounds exactly like QUT. The engineers here are known for the piss ups thrown.

We are always up at the uni bar between lectures. The staff know us as "those drunk engineers"

When i did Industrial Design at QUT we were "those drunk ... uhh, what IS I.D?". Aaah Uni bar. I also recommend the Downunder bar for a quick "post learning" stout and chippage.

Nothing goes better with dark beer than chips and gravy... :p

Oh, and UQ has an FSAE team too!

Last year was QUT's first year in FSAE. The car broke a wheel hub early on in the weekend. One wheel drive! Can you say wheel spin?
