Default Detailing a car

Beyond a regular wash at the local gas station carwash (which includes wax), I'm pretty clueless about the application of wax, claybar etc.

Does anybody know of an online guide for newbies or can give some step-by-step tips on doing this?

I'm currently driving a white TSX, which means that it gets dirty rather easily. It also means that a good detailing job is less apparent than on a darker-coloured car.

No locking this thread because I've had a question on my mind for a while now. About two times this has happened to me - The morning after I detailed the car, the cars body mists up. It is a cool morning but basically you can see where the wax was applied and you can even smell it as if I've just applied it. Once the weather heats up during the day, the mist goes away.

The car is a metallic black Mercedes.

Would the black Mercedes happen to have an exhaust system that exits behind the front wheels?....Only in yours/my dreams.

it could be moisture that gets locked in the paint by the wax (aka it wasnt quite dry enough to wax) or, more likely, its condensation from a cooler, wetter air in the morning on a warmer car body. the condensate may soften the wax and draw the smell out a bit, once it dries it would be fine.
