Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi Folks, I tried Google and a few other places but didn't get anything close to what I'm looking for... So maybe you folks can steer me in the right direction... I'm looking to get a cargo van, real soon (I hope) but I don't know anything about them other than Ford, GMC, Chevy, Dodge make them. Is there somewhere I can look to get the following details: Model names with cargo capacity, engine sizes and doors (number and opening style) and of course, last but not least, reliability figures and maintenance costs (annualized?). But cargo capacity is the most important info. I do remember vaguely when Ford or maybe Dodge came out with their "extended" van and that is what I'd be looking for. Did I mention...I'm looking for a USED van (1995-2004) with reasonable mileage. Any and all help is appreciated ![]() |

| Any of the GM vans would probably be your best bet.

| And if you can get a diesel you'll save on gas. But you are in New York so you'd have to plug it in during the winter, as well as other little nitpicky maintenance tasks. Should last you longer mileage wise though, bulletproof engines.

| Yeah. My dad has a 1998 GMC Savana and it has the 5.7L V8. It has done almost 600,000 KMs and the engine is still running pretty well, although there were many problems with brakes and some with the tranny, but overall a pretty good truck. And if you want to get a diesel, they're pretty hard to find, unlike the Ford Econoline and Dodge Sprinter (diesel engine only, from Mercedes).
