Hi everyone,
I'm currently working on a project that consists of mounting a CBR600 engine into a single-seater car. I'm actually looking for some help and advice when it comes to the a pneumatic paddle shift system and how to bypass the "neutral" when shifting from 1st to 2nd or vice-versa ? Thanx in advance for your help. Kev. |

Don't bypass it, you'll need it if you want to move the car without holding the clutch in.
You can shift directly to second from first, though. Just make sure your actuator has enough force and travel to go all the way from first to second. I would honestly suggest a mechanical linkage to a sequential shifter type to save on weight and to make sure you have enough force to change gears.

Yeah but then you potentially loose points at the design event...

thanks for your replies.
I would still need some more help and advice. Basically, what i would like to know is how to get the Neutral from the configuration 1st-Neutral-2nd to Neutral-1st-2nd ? Also, I was looking of getting rid of the 5th and 6th gear and would like to know how to do this. Could somebody also give some advice about the effects of changing the output sprocket shaft and also the effects of changing the gear ratios (also the best way to achieve that) please ? Does someone also know what are the calculations involved in order to obtain the shifting force ? Thanks in advance, Kev. pls note that the engine is from a CBR600RR 2004 model. |
