Aside from the safety issue (not being able to move off in an emergency), there's no *mechanical* reason not to put the auto transmission in park or neutral when stopped. It's only when moving that putting an automatic in neutral causes damage.

Torque Flight 727 has a oil pump on the outputshaft as well as the imput shaft, so it can do it aswell...

Late TF727s had the rear pump removed, IIRC.

For 1966, the rear pump was eliminated because the push-starting capability was rarely used (Dan Stern).

Yup.

The interesting thing is that some of the castings for the transmission case continued to have a spot in them for the rear pump and several successful attempts to add the rear pump back in have been documented - but they were mostly to see if the person could do it rather than from any practical purpose.

Modern(ish) autos shut off the fuel on a trailing throttle too.

That's a feature of the electronic fuel injection system rather than transmission.
