    Which Tyres?

    Hi,

My Micra needs new tyres. The tyre needed is 155/70 R13 T. I have 2 tyres that look ok. But I cannot find any reviews about them. So i'll list them here just in case one of you people have tried them.

    Continental Conti-Eco EP
    Continental Conti-Eco Contact 3

    Thanks

dude, my Beetle has 155 (65/15)'s oriiginally, but they are so hard to come by ... so when I bought new winter tyres last night, I had to go for 185's ...... so do that!

With all due respect, I don't think it matters for a tyre that size.
Those size wheels exist to keep the cost of replacement tyres low for the owner.

I doubt you do any competitive driving in your Micra so just buy the one that has good treadwear and "touring" qualities.

I've been driving the predecessor of the Eco-Contact 3 in 175/70 R13 size on my Astra and was totally satisfied with them. Continental proclaimed that the current Eco Contact 3 shall have improved handling qualities in comparison to the tyres I drove but I hardly doubt that the differences will be extraordinary regarding the size you are driving - primar development target in this segment is comfort and fuel economy, I suppose.
The general reputation of Continental tyres is good, at least here in Germany.

good thing it's a 1.6, or it wouldn't move no more on 185s

I can find quite a few tyres for 13". I could change my rims to 14" and go for a lower profile (which would look cool), but I will loose acceleration in the little 1L. I'm quite happy with 13", where I can beat my friends Corsa 1.4 SRi. I think I might go with the Cont Eco 3, have found a few good reviews on the web (not that I can trust them )

    Thanks for your help guys

no doubt you can find them. and continental makes all kinds of crazy sizes (i buy conti's for my vespa - 10" rubber!) i only search tirerack, who, while very good, doesnt have the widest selection.

I havn't checked lately, but yoko and michelen made a couple nice performance tires for 195 60 13's a couple years back. I liked yoko's on my 2002, aswell as my daily acura.

10", wow, didnt know there was such a thing . I only just noticed, but I have Michelins on the back, cant remember what type, looks like the garage fitted cheap tyres on the fornt just to sell it .

I've ordered a pair of conti eco 3's for the front, anything will be better than the ones I have now, massive understeer every corner

    Thanks
