Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I'm researching a transmission system for video for our 2007 formula-style (fsae) car that is currently being built. Even though I have done a fair bit of research, I have yet to come across what kind of systems f1 and other racing teams use to transmit video and audio from their cars. Any ideas? |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | We do have a telemetry system that is capable of wireless transmission, but I'm pretty sure it can't handle the bandwith necessary. We would like something capable of one to two cameras with sound and a somewhat decent picture. |

I know that the TV people use multiple recievers based all round the track due to the bandwidth requirements with this technology, but they are monitoring multiple cars so your requirements will be much lower. Out of interest what are trying to watch? are we talking just drivers view shots or are you watching the suspension systems? |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | The size of the track that we practice on is basically a mini suzuka that is .7 miles long. There are some trees but its mostly line of sight. Competitions take place on an autocross layout; so the tracks themselves are very small in comparison to regular tracks. We're trying to get a drivers view. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | 100 meters is kinda short for this, but we do have something like that in mind, albeit 300mw with a 3000foot range. Thanks. |

Car: 911, 328i, Golf, '71 Vespa Sprint Rep Power: 0 ![]() | money will be needed to make a system worth installing. i would first go with a pegasus video system: http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pro...asp?RecId=5333 (they have one-camera installs for about half the price) the wireless transmission is the killer. to cover a track and maintain a decent video bandwidth, it will be expensive, and you would need access to the grounds of the track to set up relay antennas. certainly you could try something cheap like x10's http://www.x10.com/cameras/xx11a_s_3ck_ps122.html but you have a 100 foot range (at best) and no sound, and pretty piss poor video quality. i would definitely go with a bona-fide in car video recording system, and find a wireless system (eventually) that will work well. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Well, I contacted our camera supplier, and he said he'd be willing to donate some 1.2ghz trans/recs with a range of 3000 feet. Thanks to all who responded. |
