    Random Thoughts... [Automotive Edition]

Not familiar with how the link attaches to your bar, but I assume a stud bolt of some kind. Is there a possibility there was a sleeve inside the old link's bushing that stayed stuck to the stud instead of coming off with the old link? Edit, never mind, the blurry Photobucket pic from the linked...

Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot plan to create world's No.4 carmaker

Among other things, yeah. The NAG1/722.6 transmission was also a mandated Daimler part and was not an insignificant cost-adder for those cars. Great transmission though. The Challenger shares a lot of architecture with the LX-cars but its platform is a bit different and shorter, so it's...

Ownership Verified: BCS repeatedly breaks, fixes, and re-breaks his Jeep

Entirely possible, though the price went right back up to $150/corner immediately after I ordered them and the Amazon price history is a crazy sine wave. At any rate the projected delivery date is in January sometime so it may be a while before I find out anything. Good news it was sold directly...

Ownership Verified: BCS repeatedly breaks, fixes, and re-breaks his Jeep

Damn you, cursed monkey paw! You give horrible wishes! (If they're RC wheels, they're 33-pound RC wheels haha)

Ownership Verified: BCS repeatedly breaks, fixes, and re-breaks his Jeep

Update! Rebuilt the rear shaft, vibrations seem to be all gone so hooray for that. Eventually said to hell with it and ordered the parts (2" DOM, Currie JJs, inserts) to fab up some double-adjustable lower control arms to go with the uppers so that's a whole project now. Was dicking around...

I was thinking 5yr service would be ~$2000 Canadian pesos, which isn't godawful considering the marque and the exchange rate.

    Where In The World Is..?

Thanks dude! Google was failing me for some reason. I blame the tubes.

    Where In The World Is..?

Do you happen to know how to pre-order? I can only find a single Danish site that seems to offer it for sale.

Say, what's up with BlaRo these days? I know he was going back to do his Master's but he kinda dropped off the forum.

So as I briefly mentioned in a previous post, the power brakes were...not. No power assist whatsoever. Power brakes generally need at least 11 inches of vacuum to function, ideally above 15. This is typically dictated by your camshaft - the bigger and lopier the cam, the lower the vacuum...

Ownership Verified: BCS and the Angry Wagon - Dodge Magnum R/T

Not much news, got a Diablosport tuner a while back and have been running a 91-octane tune in the summers. Adds a few horses but nothing crazy, handy to have if/when I make further changes. Been mostly working on the Jeep so I've left the wagon in just-drive-it-and-don't-fuck-with-it mode. Front...

Another two-seater convertible for the Texans

Looking good! Ultrasonic cleaners are (IMO) basically essential to properly rebuild a carb. Simple Green & water makes for a great cleaning solution.

The rear UCA saga continues. I elected for the "ridiculous overkill" strategy and ordered some 1.5"OD 0.250"-wall DOM tube and appropriate threaded inserts, plus a pair of matching LHD-thread Currie joints and jam nuts so I can fab up some double-adjustable upper arms. The tube is wildly...

Ownership Verified: The horribly-behind-schedule family project car - 1968 Plymouth GTX 426

I talked about it briefly in this post, but the long story short is that one of the heads was cracked and a previously-performed repair by a head shop (no, not that kind) failed to fix the issue and the head immediately poured coolant into the oil, even when unpressurized. It had to be...
