A Forum Star In A Reasonably Priced Car [Suzuki Swift, flying start]

Don't assume that you are necessarily faster using a wheel instead of a pad! I had a G25 about two years ago and spend nearly two weeks trying to beat my times using the keyboard (!) and I didn't manage to do so. It may very well be that I am completely useless with a wheel (not in real life...

Yeah, I just did that as well and it was a 1:36.789 which is about 1.5 seconds faster than my proper time!

Maybe just a lucky lap, those things can happen :D Someone has copied this thread to GTP by the way: http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=138646 Apparently they aren't better than us :) edit: I've just noticed they start more than two entire car lengths earlier than us and use ABS 1...

It is worth the money though. I even bought a PS3 just for that game since I usually use my PC for gaming :)

    Top Gear Stig lap video

The timing is very well done on most parts of the track so that the comments from Jezza match the position of the car in that moment. Oh, and I like some of the cuts you have put in there, i.e. cutting to cockpit view including the view of the driver. You are right though, a Stig model is needed...

Yes, changing the oil is fine since it doesn't give more power, it just brings back the horses you might have lost! Don't forget to put my time on the board please :)

Ok, here we go: After many invalid laps I managed to lay down a valid 1:38.134 using the pad.

A Forum Star In A Reasonably Priced Car [Suzuki Swift, flying start]

This is really annoying since I cant get Gold in the Event to unlock the track. And that is basically because the AI rams me which results in a loss of speed. It is only a few kph but taken into account that the car would barely hit 100 it is a considerable amount of time that I lose. And that...

    FinalGear Shirts 2010; Vote Thread

Thanks for that! :) I don't know who did this design and I didn't want to be impolite or anything like that. Very likely german isn't his native language and he doesn't know that it is wrong or he just isn't bothered because this stuperbly long german word sounds wrong to him anyway :D But...

    FinalGear Shirts 2010; Vote Thread

Just a quick note on the one with the Porsche and the "Doppelkupplungsschaltgetriebe". 1. It was already mentioned, there is missing a "s" 2. The "schalt" in there is possible, but not necessary. Usually it is just "Doppelkupplungsgetriebe" which of course means double/dual clutch...

Powering up your car by using the power supply of your PC

I agree that the explanation behind it comes a bit short in this video. But I guess the engine is already warmed up properly (which decreases the load on the starter a lot) and they probably removed the overload protection on the PSU and so on. They say it is unmodified, but have a look where...

Powering up your car by using the power supply of your PC

I have just found a stuperb thing on youtube which I thought is worth sharing. Coolermaster just introduced a new range of power supplies and decided that the best way to advertise them is to show that you can in fact start your car with one of those. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eZ2vctGCaU...

    FG Shirts&Vinyls November Order Thread

Great that you are doing a second batch of shirts. I wanted to order from the first one but sort of missed the deadline a bit. I can't remeber all the details from last time I ordered some but didn't you offer free shipping back then? Or at least it was cheaper than it is now. Anyway, I have...

Some Germans tried to break TopGear's indoor speed record

Well, that's a temporary purpose built track within the stadium, I think that doesn't meet the requirements for beeing "indoor". Yes, it is a confined space similar to a building but not that same. I think that won't count.

Some Germans tried to break TopGear's indoor speed record

One of the problems is that N24 started to exchange documentary clips with Pro7, Galileo in detail, which really worried me. This one here could be one of them. And on the tarmac point, that's true of course since grip has been, is and will be the problem. But as said before, there is rarely a...

Some Germans tried to break TopGear's indoor speed record

Hi everyone, I have just seen an episode of "N24 Wissen" which is some sort of documentary covering all sorts of topics on german TV. Today they have tried to set a speed record in doors, trying "to beat the 130 kph record from England". They have not explicitly mentioned Top Gear, but 130 kph...

The Stig: the stig without helmet caught on tape

I would not be surprised if Tim Schrick is actually one of the Stig. Just because you got both of them on the same picture it does not necessarily say Schrick is not a Stig. And if you think "Ah well they would never let one of the Stigs be on the set while not wearing a helmet!" then you have...
