So the normal KC-135s re-engined became the '-R' and the re-engined KC-135Q became the "-T"? Makes sense considering the abnormal layout

Well the SR-71 had a special tanker cadre assigned to it called the KC-135Q. Nothing was particularly special about the airframe or engines, but it was the only ones of the fleet certified to carry the JP-7 fuel that the Blackbird used.

And that's the same bullshit reasoning that has been force fed to the American people to garner continued support for the program. I've read there are conservative estimates that the F-35 fly-away cost will land anywhere between $160-180m per airframe. Its unproven technology that won't even be...

Not if you enter the descent smoothly. Chances are, if coming down at 3000fpm, ATC asked you to hustle it and you kinda had to throw everyone into their straps. We actually feel it worse than the pax do since we sit so far forward of the aircraft's CG

I totally agree. There are some photos I've taken where I've not cropped the subject at all, but then in post, found clipping the edges a bit brings a different mood to the image. I also kind of get what MWF is saying, and would be interested in seeing the second photo without the top of her...

Great feedback MWF! I agree on what you said there. I saw your comment on my photo as well. To be honest, the lighting sucked and I was hoping for more contrast on the buildings vs the harbor to make it *pop* versus losing it in the blue of the water and sky. I guess I'll just have to go...
