Prior to tonight, I hadn't really watched Cliff Lee pitch a game. Now having had the Cliff Lee Experience, I can say this:

The dude is just awesome. Except for the 9th, he just had his way with the Yankees. A guy on MLB Network* said it best when he said Lee looked like he was pitching a B game in Spring Training instead of Game 1 of the World Series! He just made it look too easy. Now let's see what Pedro can do tomorrow.

4 months, 12 hours until Spring Training starts.

This year was largely a bust for me, with the Perfect Game being the highlight for me. Hopefully everyone had a good year, in spite of the ending.

Eight years ago tonight, Mariano Rivera pitched 1 2/3 innings in an attempt to win a World Series... and lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks by giving up the tying and winning runs in the 9th.

Tonight, Mariano Rivera pitches 1 2/3 innings in an attempt to win a World Series... and didn't screw it up like last time.

I guess it's up to us in Arizona to fix that again.

Congrats to the Yankees for buying another World Series win.
