Just overheard on the radio that we only won 1:0 with the Faroe Islands.

We really are rubbish.

Haha

I don't think a new coach is the solution, though we will get a new after the world cup, we just need som time to adapt the new tactics properly. The only thing I hold against Lagerbäck, is that he doesnt bring in enough new young players at an earlier stage to get them some experience.
Adding to that is that a couple of our best players are injured right now sadly.

But maybe we get to see a whole new and improved Sweden after SA...who knows.

Muahahahah! Bulgaria - Italy 0:0
We survived! Italy played pathetic, I couldn't believe they became World Champions just 2 years ago.

In the other game today England - Kazakhstan 5:1. Superb play from England, Beckham played only 15 minutes but showed that he still is one of the best. (2 of the goals came after his passes)

I think this is characteristic of the Italian team - they always play really bad in the qualifications and the beginning stages of the tournament, but then something happens and they always get to the semi- or even the finals.

Yeah the Azzurri make you suffer if you're their fan, but eventually it all pays off (as opposed to us).

On a cheerier note, we actually seem to have a chance this time round!

Tho Fifa's ratings are a pure joke if were ranked 16th in the whole world...we never even made it to the Euro and the last time we made it to the world cup was 1970.......

Oh it used to be much worse. Not so long ago they had a system that ranked teams like Italy (12th) and Germany (22nd) below the USA which was 5th. Now that was a joke.

Really? I think Italy and Spain are rated too high. We've played both teams in the end stages 06/08 and erm...gotta go!

The rankings are always a bit wrong. For example Croatia are ranked 6th yet we thrashed then 4-1 a few weeks back and we're only 14th. On the other hand we were ranked 2nd a before the 2006 World Cup but we haven't been that good since the 70's.

agreed. It was a tough game to watch, they just didn't have their stuff together. Made it would've been different if Pirlo, Camronesi, and Del Piero were playing...

The rankings are based on inadequate and obsolete data most of the time. Bulgaria is 15 in that list and that's only because we got to No 4 at the World Cup 1994, after that we have not achieved much. Although I am a bit optimistic about 2010 - 0:0 against Italy is not bad at all.

Yeah, the ranking is pretty much a joke. As far as I see it Italy is reigning world champion and Spain is reigning European champion and they will be until until someone takes their place no matter what happens between tournaments.
