Well who's up for some subtitling? I might do some of the work, I just need to get used to the tools (not the presenters, the applications images/smilies/biggrin.gif).

But no syncing work for me, thanks. Also my engrish probably needs spellchecking.

EDIT: But where will we get the original video?

I don't have time to translate/subtitle videos, but I would like to know where I can find copies of the original.

Don't underestimate Russian warez (in Russia, internet downloads you!)

Then again, I don't know about whether or not they upload TV shows often... umm, I mean, I know absolutely nothing about Russian warez, I just for some unknown reason happen to know that these are two of the big sites images/smilies/wink.gif

Yeah, I'm sure something will surface eventually, but I'm not really into the whole russian TV warez scene images/smilies/wink.gif I kinda doubt it exists in any organized form.

lol, really? Russian Warez is like one of the craziest in the world. if you ever DL any R5 from torrents, great majority of them came from Russian scene.

I speak Russian, but would be too lazy to create .srt files. I would not worry about it too much, as TG would want UK to see those shows, so they might create subtitles themselves (just theorizing if i was them and want to gain wider audience)

Thing is.. Most of us are living on the other side of the world. So.. Some of the modern expressions might be a bit more difficult to translate. There is A LOT of russian slang terms. Just like there are plenty in the UK version of Top Gear. But.. I think it's an awesome idea.

I can help with subbing when the time comes.

A great tool for subbing is Aegisub.

Russian televison warez is largely presented at the so-called "National Bittorrent Tracker" ( torrents.ru ).

"A lot" is understating it. Russian is pretty much entirely idioms. As a result, I'll be watching TGRU with subtitles, if only to marvel at the work that went into translating.

Russian slang is not a problem. I'm Russian, I can help to translate slang. I saw some posts from Russian speakers in other forums. They want to translate it to English too. So, TPRU will be available in English for sure. images/smilies/smile.gif

Considering Feb 22 is just 2 weeks away, we should start gathering a team for subtitling.

I suggest using Google Groups to keep in touch. Anyone still willing to help with subbing, please, join the group at http://groups.google.ru/group/tgrsub.

If anyone has a better idea of a way to communicate and collaborate efficiently, let us know here.

А зачем гугл группы, если есть этот форум? images/smilies/smile.gif Эта ветка + пм + ирк, должно быть достаточно думаю.

Для начала нужен координатор. Кто нибудь чтобы разделить работу, потом склеить всё и синхронизировать. Добровольцы найдутся? images/smilies/wink.gif

Ещё можно кого нибудь из местных напрячь проверять результат. Не сомневаюсь что английский у нас всех ок, но тем не менее...

Хочется как-то структурировать людей, набрать комманду. Нужно, чтобы было видно, сколько у нас людей, и кто чем занимается. Мне кажется в группах это проще сделать, чем в этом топике.

Ну или можно создать рабочий топик по соседству в этом же разделе.
