Car: Dad's '06 Civic EX (in about 2 months...) Rep Power: 6   |  cheap htpc build I've recently decided that I need an HTPC, and I figured i'd go cheap (720p vids max, no games, and I have a small feeling that this is an impulse purchase...  ) Here's what I have:HEC 6K28BBOH40D case - has 400w PSU Foxconn G31MX-K MicroATX Pentium E2180 w/ stock cooler. Samsung Spinpoint F1 HD502lJ 500gb Sapphire Radeon HD 2600XT 256mb 1gb kingston ddr2-800 (stolen from my desktop, lol) Rosewill RNX-G300LX b/g wireless card 10x Masscool FD08025S1M4 80mm fans (because 10 is cheaper than 2 w/ volume discount... gotta love newegg  )dvdrw from parent's old desktop xp home, borrowed from old desktop ends up being about $310, which is nice. My goal is for it to be quick enough for 720p. Anyone have any thoughts? |
