Default Computer Problems, won't turn on. HELP

This is kinda like the same problem my dad had a few months ago. I woke up today to find the computer turned off, i figured it was a windows update so i just turned it back on. the fans and lights turned on for about 2 seconds and then shuts off.

My dad's problem was a harddrive was corrupt, so that is the first thing i checked and after unplugging both the computer still didn't work. Now i have no idea what to do, but one thing i noticed before was that my computers clock was losing time for the past month, and it was very noticable yesterday. it became a day behind so i switched it to the right time and went off to work. when i got back the computer was now 3 hours behind the time (was gone for 4).

    I have a ati 4850 512,
    intel e8500
    corsair 520w psu
    muskin 4gb ddr2 ram
    wd 1000gb green
    wd 640
and mobo is DFi lan party p35ktrs.

PLease could you give some advice.

*ps sorry about the lack of capitalization, i am on a ps3 and found that if i click shift-(something) it deletes everything i put.

Do you have a PSU tester?

I'd start by opening it up and making sure all the components are seated correctly. Maybe check for a lot of dust build-up. Maybe see if it will run with as few components as possible. It really could be anything from a bad motherboard to a bad switch.

try taking out the memory and plugging each in one at a time, turning it on in between. It could be a memory problem like I had.

I turned it on with the harddrives, cd drive, and ram disconnected and the same thing happens.
I also switched out the ram to 1 stick and it still doesn't work (I had to rma for this ram...).

Should I disconnect the video card and try that?

Also the harddrives and the dvd drive can run with all the others unplugged...so the psu works a bit.

You guys don't think it might be the mobo battery? As I read somewhere that if your computer's clock is acting up it maybe because of the battery.

Well it bought a new mobo battery and the computer booted. the first screen gave me a bunch of settings and said click f1 to continue, i did so then my computer would not reconize my second harddrive, so i figured if i rebot in windows 7 (on second harddrive) then everything would be ok. so i restart and now nothing is outputted, not through usb or the monitor.

I am going to take tha battery out again and see if it workds this time. Did i need to change something in that first screen with F1 to continue?

Fixed, said it was overclocked...which it wasn't so I went into bios and set everything to default.
