Default Missing Core files and have a scratched install disk!

So I let my brother use my Powerbook G4 with OSX 10.4 this past Christmas. He being the nice kid he is decided to clean out all the spyware in my computer, trouble is there was no spyware, and he wound up deleting Disk Utility and Installer thinking it was spyware. So now I go to install iLife '08 today and I can't open it with Installer because it's been trashed! So I went to try and restore with my Install CD and it's scratched and isn't recognized!

What can I do? I don't feel like dishing out $100+ bucks for Leopard, and I know my brother can't afford it. I thought about downloading Tiger off Bittorrent, but without Disk Utitlity I can't burn it onto a DVD-DL to mount it.

Would it be possibly to copy Installer and Disk Utility from another mac onto a thumb drive and drag them into the Utilities folder, I'm skeptical but it's better than buying a new install CD.

You can have a friend burn the DVD for you.

Perhaps you could download alternative dvd burning software off of the internet?

Thanks guys, Darkshark uploaded the files for me and just plopped them in the Utilities folder and it works great!

On another good note, the problem prompted a call to a friend who's a system administrator and he says he'll just get me a backup copy of Leopard for free. So it all kind of worked out better than expected
