Port forwarding for bittorent with vonage router

    Man, what a frigging pain!.
If it's going to be this difficult, I'll think I'll do without a phone.
Does anyone know of a RECENT port forwarding site that has directions for V-portal
VDV21-VD?. The Vonage router has to be in front of my regular router. I can no longer see any of my 3 other pcs and all the directions I find are for forwarding on the the vonage router. I only need the pc that has my torrent client on it to be forwarded.

    Help!

ps: I'm using azureus but can switch to utorrent.

Tried that page first. That's were I usually send everybody else with forwarding errors.
My 3 pcs are connected to my linksys router and are usually listed in the dhcp table. The vonage router is now BETWEEN the linksys router and my cable modem. No more dhcp table to forward ports for individual pcs.
    thanks.

Double NAT (two routers in line) is a bad setup and you are likely to run into all kinds of problems.
That said you can get it working by forwarding your azureus port from the vonage to your linksys router and from there to your pc.

My advice is to use the vonage router only and if you need the other one for wifi just use it as an accesspoint.

    Thanks for the reply
My set up is wired. Why can't I just connect the vonage router to my linksys router?
Quick and dirty solution was to DMZ the vonage router. Not sure I like that but at least I can seed again.
I was worried my husband would have problems with his online games which makes him really cranky.
    Thanks.

    connection on the cable modem.
Again, my set up is wired. I have about 200 feet of network cable running under my carpets and between my walls. Wireless was in its infancy when I set this up. I'm under the impression wireless is an entirely different beast from wired.
    thanks

You need only ONE router for your pcs.
Again why do you want to use both routers ?

You could use the Linksys router as just a switch to link multiple PCs, well as any other functionality which it provides.

Connect the Vonage router to one of the Ethernet ports and not the WAN port on the Linksys router. Also, you'd need to change settings of all the machines to point the router's IP address as the default gateway (or modify DHCP to point to the correct address).

Agreed. The easiest way is just to hook all the computers up to a switch, and hook the switch up to the LAN port of the Vonage router. You can use your Linksys as a switch, but you have to disable its DHCP server and make sure to plug everything into its LAN ports (including the Vonage's LAN port).

I guess it would be more correct to say the Linksys router is acting as a switch or a hub?
I went ahead and connected the Vonage v-portal (router, whatever)l to one of the Ethernet connections on the Linksys.
The phone works fine that way and it's not slowing down my connection anymore. I DMZed its ip address in the Linksys. All calls go directly to voicemail anyway and I can actually download my messages to my pc from Vonage's website.
The pcs and the phone are connected to the Ethernet ports on the Linksys. The WAN connection on the Linksys is connected the the Ethernet port on the Motorola cable modem. Seems to have solved the problems.
Internet slows to a crawl when using the phone but you can dial back the amount of bandwidth vonage uses
    on your account settings page.
    Thanks again everyone.
