Experienced Crash Test Dummy
|
I've bought it almost immediatly after it came out, September 2006 and so far it has worked flawlessly, but now it's developped a bit of an error. Sometimes (and the frequency is increasing over the days) i get double clicks instead of a single click. It may not sound like a big error, but it is VERY annoying, especially during work, where single and double click do two completely different things. Just today i experienced this at least 20 times.
Has anyone ever encountered this with Logitech mice? Is there any way to fix it? Maybe i just need to take it apart and clean it a bit, haven't done that at all with this mouse. If push comes to shove, i'll just complain to my dad and he'll get the company to get a replacement, since it is company equipment, but i always feel so uncomfortable asking for money...

Are you using the Logitech software? If you are, perhaps reinstalling that or updating to the latest version could work.

old porsches do run!

You click too often, microswitch is dying :p
When I had this with my old mouse (it was MS though), I just swapped the switches between the dying one and some side button I never used, it still worked until I changed the mouse. It's probably sodered to PCB, but it shouldn't be too difficult to do. |

Replaced my old mx1000 with the revolution, after the battery crapped out and i couldn't get a replacement 1000. I prefer the revolution, although it takes a bit of getting used to, what with the scroll switch and all.

A microsoft mouse has failed in 1/4 of the time in my hands. It's wear and tear that Logitech handle much better. What's that? Yes, Logitech is still awesome.

for all the money you paid, all logitech mice use the same mechanical bits for the buttons as the cheapest ones.

I've got a logitech LX5 mouse right in front of me, and it kicks ass, and there's no way it's made from cheap parts. End of story/back on topic.
Don't know what I can suggest, but if you like it, get another. If not, look for another Logitech mouse (Logitech fanboy w00t).
