Default PS3 fps Drop...

Hey,

Just got hold of Fallout 3 earlier and have been playing it quite a bit but have noticed a problem.

I played the game for about 6 hours straight, by hour 5 the game had started acting slower, having a lagging affect and noticable fps drop depending on the level of detail in the surroundings.
Another half hour and the game had become almost un-playable, so I saved the game and switched off the console.

Then went and made sure all the vents were clear and it wasn't clogged with dust, all seemed well although it was pretty hot to the touch, especialy the base so I left it to cool down a bit.
Turned the console back on an hour later and resumed playing to have the same affect happening about an hour later.

Is this just general over-heating due to me playing it too much or is it another, more serious, problem?

Test the overheating by noticing performance drops in other games that ran fine before.

The PS3 version of FO3 is known for problems anyway.

if the performance didn't pick back up after you let it cool down for a while, you could try deleting the game's installed cache and reinstalling (don't delete the save games, obviously)
