Which headphones, I need your opinions.

So yeahhh, like all things I am around, a friend's headset broke and I would like to replace it with something that costs less than $50.00. I think thats's reasonable for some 5 year-old (if not more) fluffy RCA noise canceling headphones, don't you?

Brand does not matter, should be cooshy, good for tv watching (tv does have a standard 3.5mm jack), and should have noise canceling.

Possible choises not in any order:

    Choise #1: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106666

    Choise #2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826262029

While I'm at it, I figure I can save some money on shipping and get myself a pair however I don't need the noise canceling feature.

Any suggestions of your own, or from my possible choices?

A while back, Woot had a great deal on an Everglide S-500, which have these gigantic earmuffs. $20 for a set of phones that are $80 MSRP. I know that doesn't really help you now, but Woot has had them before and they often repeat things. Keep your eyes on it.

EDIT: Anyone else know of a good deal, brand, or type that I should look for?

EDIT: Anyone know anything about these? I think this is what I am going for if I don't get a response in a day... http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...2699&CatId=390

Have either of you tried that specific headphone (http://www.headphone.com/guide/by-bu...ser-hd-201.php) on that site? Have you bought anything from that site aswell -Would you trust it with your hard earned american dollars?

Is there more like a $40.00 version of this too? I don't wanna be too cheap .

    Thank you to you both.

EDIT: Sorry for being so picky, just wanna get things right without being screwd.

They have several guides to point you to the right models. Try one of the selection guides for yourself. Read the reviews, see the ratings. Simple as that.

Ummm, they need to be cushy so they can block out noise and sound even better. Also this is a person in their ummm... late 60s?

I could possible use them for myself, but that would just null the shipping idea of saving me money. Thank you for the input.

I didn't see the noise canceling part OOPPS
    3:42 AM lol
but they ARE extremely comfy. The last similar type pair I owned would smush my ears and after about 15 minutes would be really painful. These I can wear for a couple hours and don't hurt.
You can save on shipping if you live near staples or some other store that sells them though? :3

3:54 by my cloc... hey stop stalking me!

Unfortunately Staples and group never seem to have a big selection (even though I do like to actually feel what I am buying) or markup the price substantially. Walmart unexplainably does not everything either. Curse Binghamton!

i got a pair for my mom (who is actually 50 and she loves them, they are pink and match the ipod i gave her ) at newbury comics, which unfortunatly are only in all the states to the right of you (MA, NH, ME, RI etc)

edit: I should probably add the #1 reason I bought them
Lifetime warranty. A pair of earbuds I had from them broke, they sent me a new pair for free, and another cheaper pair too. as of right now I have 5 pairs of headphones by them for this reason.

i have a set of in ear monitors from skullcandy. I love them,l one 3 of 20 of the volume i cant hear my coworkers yelling at me. get the cheap ones around 20 USD, as they have the greatest dynamic range. they arent noise canceling but damn they do a good job of it. better is when they go on sale for 10 USD! im getting a few pairs the next time as i get caught on things at work and snap the cord. Solidly built so no worries, i just get carless and they get snagged and i dont realize till its to late....

Skullcandy makes exactly 0 pairs of headphones that sound halfway decent. AKG, Senn, Shure, stick to brands that don't cater to teenagers who want their headphones to make them look cool.

BCS nailed it. Other brands may be dirt cheap, but I always came back to the big ones, and I've had a lot of headphones in my life. Therefore, I solely recommend real headphone manufacturers such as the ones in the above post supplemented by Beyerdynamic and Koss. All of those have fairly cheap cans that work really well. Check them out at headphone.com and pick your model.

Or maybe people who want to spend less than 50$ on their headphones instead of 100$?
Obviously Professional audio headphones are going to sound alot better but I sure as hell am not dropping more money on headphones than what they're plugged into. I googled those brands and the cheapest ones are around 60$ and go all the way up to 1,000$. The skullcandy ones are good compared to similarly priced headphones. You're comparing like if you said a porsche is better than my bug.

Even the budget Sony MDR-EX series will walk all over the offerings from SK. Even the MDR-EX082 ($30) sound excellent for a set of IEM's under $50. Sennheiser makes inexpensive earphones as well. The JVC Mallows and Senn CX600 are very inexpensive and well-regarded.
