| Lazy Head Dude | RAM disks are highly overrated IMO as they suffer from bottlenecks and such. Plus, who the hell uses their page file more than the tiny bit that's required of it?

| Windows moves anything that is not currently being used into the pagefile. So no matter how much RAM you have it will still use quite a bit of the pagefile. I believe Vista relies on it less than XP did but it still does it. | |

The bottleneck you are talking about is the writing and reading time, which I don't really care that much, it's the access time that will boost the system's performance. It's not. Just because you don't need(and couldn't use) 6gb doesn't mean its a total waste. Besides, I've already made the decision to get the ram before the price goes up. This extra 4gb of ram that I purchased is still around $80 region, which is a bargain. I'd like to see how mugh the same 4gb will be priced when you guys have to upgrade memory in the future (for whatever reason, OS/games/applications etc.)

So I started to read and find out if it's a good or a bad idea. I ended up with "bad", due to many compatibility issues, shortcomings of Windows and such. I stuck to Windows XP however. So as you are thinking about using Vista 64bit, I can only highly recommend going that way.

| I remember thinking 4GB was overkill, now it almost seems to be the norm. So 6GB seems overkill now, but pretty soon it will also probably be the norm.
