Default Allofmp3 now giving their music away for FREE!

Yeah thats right kids! those crazy Russians got fed up that Visa International and MasterCard Inc. where blocking their customers from using the Allofmp3 service, so now they have started offering their music for free.

The catch? well you have to use their media player to play the music, its called Media for the Masses and can be downloaded from their site, if you want to move the music to another computer you would have to pay ($1 pr. Album)

Select an album or song and choose Free Mode when you get to the payment screen.

www.allofmp3.com

Edit: Just did a spyware search and diddent find anything on the Media player.

Also just tried downloading a song (Schh dont tell anyone) and it just plays in Media for the Masses by it self, pretty easy.

Only offy thing about it is that you have to be connected to the internet to play music in the player, why?

In Russia, MP3s download you! images/smilies/biggrin.gif

On a serious note, I'll happily stick my er, alternative means to get my music. Rather not have to install some dodgy software to play music.

I'd rather support the Russian maffia than the music industri (I pay for good music, not for all the crap that gets pumped out)

real fans buy CDs anyway, so allofmp3 does not proper artists nearly as much as it does harm the big music companys.
and they're not stealing, they're just exploiting the difference between the western and the eastern markets.

A) P2P is not stealing. Stop letting the RIAA brain-wash you.
B) The "free" music is ad-supported

Yes I think that the riaa etc are ripping of people too, I buy on average 1 cd per year. My point is, why support allofmp3, a site that does no good for the music industry, instead of downloading?? It is not like you are being any more "legal"....

nah, real fans buy CDs at shows. or directly from the band.

rule out the middle man, and the majority of musicians i listen to will sell me a CD for $10 postage paid from their website or $8 at the show.

My friend who uses Allofmp3 got a letter from a lawyer little over 2 months ago giving him x amount of time to pay an already set, settelment, they diddent get a dime as he was buying music on Allofmp3 in good faith that it was legal - It the music would have been free it would be impossible for him to be in good faith.

Also, its easier to download from Allof than from div. Torrent sites or p2p clients. That alone is worth the $1 pr. album.

That's not an opinion, that's a fact. The **AA's are in it for themselves and their money. The only people ripped off more than artists are the consumers.
