Anyone noticed the Latest iTunes doesn't work?

Ive just updated iTunes, and i really wish i hadn't. For a start if i try to add an album, it splits the album up and makes seperate albums for each song. Also, it likes to duplicate every track two or three times, so not only do i have an album for one song, but they all contain the same song 2 or 3 times. Why Apple? why?!

Is anyone else having these problems? It's irritating because i have OCD with my iTunes library, i like everything to be perfect with artwork so it just means i have to spend all this time editing each track. Grr. images/smilies/mad.gif

Which version are you talking about? I'm using 8.0.2.20 and it works fine.

Why? Frustration at my post or Frustration at iTunes?

8.0.2 is my version according to this. So I dunno. Its very irratating. This is on OSX 10.5.6 btw images/smilies/smile.gif

iTunes 8.0.2 works fine on my Mac Pro with 10.5.6.

Select all the songs from an album, right-click and select Get Info, go to the Options tab, then check the box that says Part of a complication and select yes, finally click OK.

It's possible that you're also adding a playlist file for that particular album. Be sure you're only adding audio files, and not playlist files when you drag entire folders into iTunes. That's usually my case when I end up with duplicate songs.

I had this problem as well. DO NOT make them into a compilation. I don't remember why, but I had problems with that. Here is the solution:

Make sure every one of the songs has the same album artist (right-click and press Get info). This is crucial. If there is more than one artist on the album, than just type "Various Artists" or whatever you'd like. Also make sure you don't just leave the album artist field blank. I recall that not working either.

8.0.2 works fine on my laptop.

OP: the problem may lie in your computer.

I had a lot of software that was buggy on my old broken down laptop and when i got a new one with new OS, all those same buggy programs actually ran problem free.

Songs being added twice when downloaded is, as stated above, because most people add a .m3u playlist to their torrent... so either delete the .m3u file or add only this one file.
