The lineups at my local Rogers wasn't too long. Okay, there was no line ups and there was even a display model in the front of the store! And to think that idiots in Vancouver were lining up to buy their 3G iPhones lol. The iPhone is a fairly sophisticated phone, but calling it "revolutionary" and "breakthrough" seems to be a bit excessive (just a few example of the words I found in the Rogers brochure). For one thing, they're still using the crap 2.0 MP camera of the old iPhone. Frankly, I was expecting a bit more from Apple. I had a go with the new 3G iPhone this Friday and to be honest, I was really unimpressed. For the most part, it seemed to be exactly the same as the old one (with the addition of GPS and 3G of course). When you explore the maps of the GPS too quickly, it causes the damn thing to freeze and you have to reboot it. The price is quite competitive though at $199, but you need to sign a 3 year contract with the cheapest monthly plan at $60.

The prices for some apps in the app store are pretty ridiculous.

Most of the expensive ones are corporate stuff from what I've seen.

I only use free apps though. I may a sub-$5 one or two eventually, but I haven't seen anything yet worth buying.

I waited for about an hour and a half today to get mine at the Apple store. Neat thing I have an old voice plan which ATT no longer offers and hasn't for about 4 years, Apple just tacked the data plan onto that so I am only paying 59.95 as opposed to the 69.95 I should be being charged.

Yeah, you're right. I wanted that "milk" app, because it's kinda stupid but funny. Not for 3 bucks though.

I did buy Sketches, which was 6 dollars. It's kinda cool. I can send it to you if you want, not sure if it tracks the times you install it though.

Any suggestions on a good case? I was thinking of getting one of the skins or whatever, but I saw on the apple store some hardshell cases as well.

I honestly don't use one, but then again I don't have a phone.

The front is essentially scratch proof -- it's just the back you need to worry about. Mine is covered in fine scratches (nothing deep).

What's the point in paying thousands of dollars for an obvious fashion accessory if your going to put in in a shit case?

I picked up a Black 16GB 3G iPhone on Tuesday, and i'm glad I did. AT&T needs to get their network straightened out, but it should be worth it. The GPS also works well, even though there is no proper navigation application, which should be out in due time.

I also just hacked my old 2G 8GB iPhone (running software 2.0). I'm not certain if I want to sell it or if I want to just keep it as a backup/international use phone.

On the cases subject, I ended up getting the hard leather case from Belkin (http://store.apple.com/us/product/TS...mco=MTM1MDE0MQ) Hopefully that link works. I like it, but not as much as my old incase case for my 2G iphone.

I went with an black incase...rubber or silicone, not sure. It's slim, probably won't protect it from any drops. But dammit, i'm gonna try my hardest not to let it fall.

Alright....Pandora is the greatest app I have on my iPhone. I never even heard of it until now....pretty much you select an artist, and it creates a radio station which plays their music (and similar music). It's free and it's awesome.
