Yeah, Last.fm and Pandora are both great services. Pandora seems to use a smaller selection of music than Last.fm does. I've found myself hearing the same things over and over on Pandora through the course of a day, but on Last.fm there's less repetition.

I've been playing with Last.fm a little, and I've noticed even a larger selection of artists as well. I found it to take a little longer to buffer though and the buttons weren't always receptive. I'll probably use both of the apps. Thanks guys....

I'm such a moron. I didn't realize that the earbuds that came with the iPhone have a mic/button attached. I thought they were just for listening to music etc.

I just picked up the new one. I'm not happy at all with the 3g in Canada, it's way to unstable. Not to keen about the battery life either ;|

My boss picked up a Blackberry Bold at the Australian launch. I had a look at the interface and feel, and I quite like it.

I've pretty much decided that I'll be getting one. I've got a Touch, so if I want App Store apps (or if I want to watch movies) then I can use that.

The fact that Australia's data plans aren't exactly awesome vs the Blackberry's unlimited data plans is another reason why I'm looking at a Blackberry.

lol...oh, I had no idea.

I'm trying to install it, but it wants to backup my iphone. I let it run for like 8 hours, and it still had a while to go. So I just gave up. It's kinda ridiculous.

Well, according to this... there's a new way to jailbreak your iPhone, but its for Windows users only and looks like a "safer" way.

Quote:
My little Pwnie - QuickPwn

We’ve got something for you! (No, it’s not the 3G unlock, but still something very useful.)

It’s a tool we’ve been working on to jailbreak a phone more quickly and easily, without requiring a full restore. Unless you are making a custom firmware with specific features, there is nothing inherent in the pwnage process that requires a restore, and we have been planning this tool for some time. It’s more convenient because you do not need to make a full IPSW and use iTunes with it, but your phone still ends up pwned and jailbroken.

In an attempt to be more open about our development process, we’re releasing a beta version of quickpwn, for Windows only. Other platforms are coming soon.

What you’re getting here is a development version (mostly feature complete) of an upcoming tool that we see as a complement to our current PwnageTool. It’s not ready for everyone just yet, but with a bit of expertise, it should work nicely for those of you adventurous enough to try it.

Currently QuickPwn requires your device to be running version 2.0.1 of the iPhone/iPod firmware. This requirement will change in a subsequent release.

Remember that although this is a development release, jailbreaking only deals with the S5L (application processor) side of the device, so it’s impossible for this to permanently damage your device.

This tool and technique has been available to the iPhone research and hacking community for about 5 days now (if you looked hard enough) and now that we have released it properly, we are sure you’ll see all sorts of tools popping back up that have, erm„ been on a long hiatus images/smilies/smile.gif

2.0.1 and 2.0.2 are updates. It doesn't have to copy all of your music back after updating -- you only had to do that with 2.0.0.

But yes, the "backing up device" takes fucking forever. I usually just cancel it (click the X) which makes it skip ahead to syncing.

When I click "update" it says (in a different box) that it's extracting software...then says backing up iphone...it's not showing on the top of itunes where I can click an 'x'...it's in a totally different box and I can't cancel it. BTW....i'm on a mac and have the latest version of itunes.

Oh, that's normal. Just let it go. Should only take a few minutes.

That's the thing...the last time I tried, it ran for 8 hours and was still far from completion. This time it ran for about an hour and was a quarter way through. I unplugged, synced the phone then tried again and it didn't try to backup. So, i'm happy now....

I'm quite annoyed.. 2.0.2 fixed the keyboard lag in SMS... but now its back.

Soooo...the last few days I've been noticing a dead pixel on my phone. It's about an inch below where the time is displayed. I called the apple store, she laughed and said you would have to bring it in...most likely they will replace it.

I made an appt. with them today. If they can fix it, great. Otherwise if they replace it with a new one, fine too. I'm gonna ask if I can pay the difference for a 16gb...see what happens.

It didn't bother me at first, but my eye kept moving to that one pixel when watching videos....maybe it's not a big deal, if it were in a corner I wouldn't have cared.

If you guys got lag, reboot your phone. My 2.0 (too lazy to update, will do it soon, though) lags quite often, quick reboot, everything back on track...
