its not asus that won't repair it, any company wouldn't do it... its not their fault that they broke, you broke it... unless it fell out but if it snapped, isn't it your fault?... remember the Warranty is to fix faults in their laptop due to manufacturing mistakes, not mistakes by the user images/smilies/wink.gif

The retailer is still responsible for items such as the hinge breaking under the Sale of Goods Act. You should contact them.

Asus does suck, my friend has a computer with mainly Asus parts, and I had to spend literally like a week just to get all the software and drivers from their crappy, slow, and poorly designed website. Then, ahh, wtf, Asus just sucks.

Weird, their motherboards used to be highly recommended, and I've had a great experience with mine. I never really knew them for any of their other products, and I guess this is why.

ASUS as a company isn't that great anymore, they increased their product line too much, they can't just concentrate on two or three products anymore, their quality has gone down quite a lot as a result.

The only thing I could recommend is to try to send it back to ASUS for repair, and tell them the lock broke off under normal operation and wasn't forced or improperly used.

Asus are an excellent manufacturer, theyre like the Germans in terms of quality, use stuff well, and it lasts.

I agree with you,but...like said before, it's quite a handfull to get them installed (motherboards). They're just too complicated for home-users. And their site idd sucks. I'v had Asus from the beginning I started with computers (about 8 years ago) till my previous motherboard. Now I have msi, and to be honest, I like it more (faster startup, easier to set up,...). But they are very good. But I can only make a comparison about their motherboards, so about the laptops I know little to nothing.

Don't look in the HK site, andy. Try other locations.

Lazy boy, tell me the model of your pc and what you want your drivers for. I'll post them on my uni's ftp. And if it's graphics drivers, you might want to try the generic ones.
