| Cruzz563|work | Yes, we've been discussing it in the channel...the consensus there is that it's genuinely fake. BUT, they apparently have a booth for the 2006 CES show* *search CES's site for more info

| I don't think WindowsXP can handle 12 Terabyte of space properly, I may be wrong. And I don't think WindowsXP can handle 1 terabyte of RAM either. | |

| Global Moderator | Yeah the maximum addressable ram space on 32 bit operating systems is something near 16GB (with special extensions). A 64 bit operating system could in theory support 16^2 GB or 256GB of RAM, with addressable space. As for the 12 TB of Hard Drive space, it becomes a limitation of the hardware because NTFS in theory can handle 128bit addresses, so 12 TB is possible, even though I doubt the currently shipping windows XP software can access 12TB of storage without special extensions. Windows Server 2003 does have this support (with special drivers) since SAN systems can have 20+ TB of storage in a single drive. So in other words, totally fake, especially once you hit the 4GHz mark, it gets difficult to keep track of your electrons so speed measurements are near impossible, and it is nearly impossible to control them at that frequency (with current technology). It would be less suspicious if it had been a server, but definitely not a laptop, since laptops always get the oldest of new technologies. Usually newest most awesome technologies hit the server market first, followed by performance desktops, followed by cheap desktops, and then laptops. |

| "The Quantum II is the brainchild of Westbury, New York-based Shimon Gendlin, who runs Atom Chip and Compu-technics, and whose "magneto quantum-optical" discoveries are enshrined in US patent 5,841,689 filed in November 1996 and granted in November 1998." "The company is scheduled to demonstrate its wares on Booth 36604" And He does have a patent...sorta big for a hoax but he did apply it on 1996

__________________ Yup, two too many cars, but I love 'em: 1991 Peugeot 309 - owned it for four years, currently the only runner and the daily driver... but great fun to drive! French though, so gotta treat her rough to keep her happy. 1989 Toyota MR2 Mk1 - owned it for two years. Love it loads. Currently undergoing a suspension upgrade... 1987 Toyota MR2 Mk1 SC - A project car that had Headgasket issues when I bought it. I've never driven it... yet... | ||
