Down in Aus i got a cable connection, which is far better value here. $60 bucks a month ($Au) and i get uncapped download (around 700kb/sec) and 128k up hehe images/smilies/lol.gif

O.. and then i get capped at 10gb to 64k, but if i download smart, e.g like in the last 7 days i can download 35gb+ wihtout getting capped, and running at full speed for the last 7 days i can theoretically get 423gb download.

But I don't think the isp would be too happy or my hard-drive either

one of the operators in Finland offers 12Mb/1Mb adsl line on helsinki region on 58€/month, but same operator offers 24Mb/1Mb line in other town at 58€/month. And the operator has no limited the lines.
What do you think about that?

Here in the eastern states its nice. I have cable (for $30USD a month after a nice fight with my cable company images/smilies/biggrin.gif) and I consistently get 350 - 450 kb/s downloads and 15 - 20 kb/s uploads to the internet. I also have a few 100mbit full-duplex connections (actually 6) to the outside world at work that I use for major downloading, and now uploading images/smilies/biggrin.gif. The best part is no one cares about how much transfer I use at either place.

i pay €35 (which is about $50) for 1120/352 kbit/s, and no caps.
Last month i downloaded over 120 GB, and uploaded 30-40 GB.

im thinking about switching to a 2048/512 line though.

edit: i think it would be wise to do so...

Jeez... I'll get a line like that in the moment I'd get it at that price...

Mine is a 10mbit line in both directions, but it has a 24 hour transfer cap at 1 gig. Luckily there are a few DC hubs in the local network which are not included in the transfer calculations so I can get pretty much anything I need.

Although there's one pretty important pro in this line. It's free images/smilies/biggrin.gif

The line I get for the university is crazy fast and free. So I usually do all my heavy lifiting there but this one is nice because I get cable tv as well.

I got a simple DSL connection 1024/128... Can't afford a flatrate at the moment... But maybe I'll get one soon...
When I was in one of the Student homes of my University I had a 10Mbit line with 1 Gig cap/day like Harzardous... That was fine, ping only about 15ms...
Used to be in a FTP community... When Breakfast was over I almost hit my limit... images/smilies/lol.gif
