Sure, something like this:
http://www.smarthome.com/7656l.html

But surf around because that's just one of the results that I got when googling.

Not to diminish your enthusiasm, but this particular wireless transmitter is the biggest pice of shit on the face of the earth. This thing cannot transmit a clear signal 10 ft apart with a single wall between them. Hell, there was a constant signal pop with them being 5ft apart with nothing but air between them. AND, if you have any other 2.4G devices, such as cordless phones come to mind, forget it. I finally took a 5lb sledge to mine. The only thing I enjoyed was smashing that thing to pieces in the garage.

images/smilies/lol.gif wow.......

I wasn't recommending it or anything, just merely posting the first thing I found. I know my boss has a different model that he said has worked really well for him when he sends his signal down the hall from his computer to TV, and he's had it for a couple years. Now that I think about it, I think he just picked it up at the local Radio Shack.

Whatever you get, you may need a clear "line of sight" from point A to point B. I'm not that familiar with this stuff, but I think I remember him saying something like that too. You may just be better off running a cable.....

A hundred bucks!? Why doesn't he just call the cable guy over to install a new cable outlet in the room?

heh because the cable company in this area is pretty awful and will charge you a ton of money to get an outlet where you want it (~$50USD trip charge, then $25 a wall that they have to fish the cable through, and the cost of materials). It's cheaper to go to Home Depot and run your own.

As for the no-coax method, there really aren't good ones, unless you happen to have a media center PC, and a spare xbox laying around. I don't have coaxial cable in my room, but I do have ethernet access. So I connected my xbox using media center extender software, to my media pc in the basement which does have a coax connection, and use the media center extender software to watch live TV in my room. It works very well, but requires a pretty complex (and expensive) setup in order to make it happen. I just happened to have all of the parts previously, so it just took some time to figure out how to make it work.

Dang!! I think im just gonna scrap the whole idea, i might just get a bigger tv for downstairs so i having something to motivate me to get up in the morning!

I was looking at some projectors, but dn't know if i am gonna spend that kind of money on it.

The main reason is because i am trying to get HDTV in my house before the World Cup starts. I have dish, and i think i need to install a different reciever to get HDTV. images/smilies/thumbdown.gif

If anyone has any advice or pointers it would be great!!! images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

Oh.... i almost forgot a couple days ago my friend and I took his old cellphone and shot it with a paintball gun before hitting it with a sledge hammer!!! images/smilies/thumbsup.gif Good Times!!!! images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I don't know how satellite works, but I have cox HDTV/DVR service, and a projector. I love the signal quality and the 10 ft. screen. I'd really only suggest a projector if you have a big enough wall to put it on and have decent seating for that area. Also, a sound system is a must (because a projector is only a display), since with most TVs you'll get some type of crappy speaker.

I have a Panasonic PT-AE700U and it's really nice, i'd suggest the 900 to anyone looking to buy a projector (since they stopped making the 700 when the 900 released, same basic projector with better LCD panels).
