Default Can I reflash bios on a new board?

Long story short, I'm doing a nearly complete upgrade because I found somebody to pay me enough money for my current stuff to make it worth it. I want to get this EVGA 680i motherboard, but it only supports the E8400 with a bios reflash. Can I reflash the bios without having a processor?

Short answer no, long answer yes.

I believe you can do it but you'd need a EEPROM Programmer.

so would it be easier to just buy either a different processor or just a cheap one like that.

Good question. I seriously have no idea if it would even boot with a unsupported CPU. Maybe someone else knows the answer.

I did some reading. Apparently it won't post with an E8400, so I'm just going to get an E6850 instead.
