Default Can you still buy laptops with Windows XP?

I've been shopping around for Dell & HP/Compaq laptops but cannot find one selling Windows XP. I prefer XP due to the minimum sys requirements and the fact it's on SP2 already. Will be buying the cheapest bnew laptop.

If you order it, you can maybe choose the OS.
My company always orders our Notebooks with XP SP2 and not Vista, which would usually be installed...HP's, by the way...

Windows XP OEM will be available until the end of this year or sometime next year, I think (I can't remember, exactly). I know Dell still sells laptops with Windows XP and I recently bought one from HP that included XP Pro.

I think you can get Dell Vostros with XP. Otherwise, phoning to order might work as you can communicate exactly what you want.

Dell laptops are crap, my family has had three and we have not been impressed. See if you can still find an Asus with XP. If you can, snatch it up because they are going fast (have gone is more like it).

After having owned a Dell laptop (Latitude D620) for over a year I have no problems recomending one. I've had very little trouble with it, only two things being the DVD drive, wich was changed under warranty by a technician that came to my workplace and did it. The second was some trouble I had with the WiFi card after i got Vista installed, wich was also changed and now it works flawlessly... Dell's warranty is pretty much unbeatable; Four years, and they'll come and fix it within 24 hours no matter where in the civilized world you might be...

My dad an my brother has also had Dells, they've been trough two of them and they have had no problems with them...

I may recommend a HP/Dell to my buddy as there's no substantial Dell presensence in the Philippines. Here's to them having them XP SP2 machines before Microsoft's deadline.

yes you can. I work in computer consulting/IT you still can buy them with xp but you have to specify. I dont think its so easy at like a chain to get xp right now, but if you were buying online or by phone you might be able to specify. I know at work we order as many as possible on xp because vista is a pain.
