Default Can't freakin port forward

I just picked up this new router: http://www.belkin.com/support/articl...=6131&scid=222

However, I don't know how to set up the ports for Azureus to work properly. I tried www.portforward.com, but the stuff they have listed for this router is for the old version of the Belkin router config page, not the one that I currently have. My friend setted up the port forwarding stuff for my old Netgear router, so I'm not sure how to do it with the new one.

That should put you in the right direction at least.

Yeah, but I'm not too sure about the settings for Azureus.

As I said earlier on, somebody else did the work for me with my old Netgear router.

Or you might use the mighty "google" to discover the settings of the thing...

But, yeah, use utorrent...

Yeah I'm going to say utorrent too. Azureus can be a real pig, not only with the port settings.

Azureus should have a section about this in it's help guide though, I remember setting up port forwarding with my Linksys. That's probably what causes it to reboot...

I have prett much the same router (I think mine is an older model) but it is virtually impossible to get port forwarding working right. It is more a matter of luck then knowing what your doing images/smilies/tongue.gif. It took me an entire year to get uTorrent to port forward right...... and, after the first day I set the port forwarding for uTorrent, I ddin't change any settings. It just randomly works now.

I use uTorrent + UPnP + a random port at startup. Works like a charm.

If you go to Azureus' website there is wiki with the port information. I'm not a fan of Azureus but I can run it on my home server (linux) with a useable web interface. μTorrent is windows only last I looked.

According to this, all you have to do is force encryption only rather than setting it to the default: http://torrentfreak.com/how-to-bypas...ttling-071021/

Try this out:

1. Go to Start, Run, then type cmd
2. Type ipconfig, then copy down the last two numbers of your local IP address (usually starts with 192)

http://pic.phyrefile.com/a/an/anonymous/2008/04/07/step01.PNG

3. Get to this screen on your router. Read the manual if you're not sure how. Copy the settings as I have them, but make sure to replace the XX with the last two digits of your local IP.

http://pic.phyrefile.com/a/an/anonymous/2008/04/07/step02.png

4. Load up uTorrent and enter the same number from the previous screen. It doesn't have to be 7500, just choose something between 1000 and 9000 to make it easy.

Just tried the above. I keep getting "Error! Port 7500 does not appear to be open." whenever I run the port test in uTorrent. I already removed Azureus, and I think I've set up a Static IP correctly.

Are your torrents working at all? My friend has a Microsoft router and the torrents run fine, but uTorrent still says his port "does not appear to be open". Can you take the same screenshots I did so I can see your settings?

Why did you blur out "2"? We can see it in your ipconfig readout, and it's your internal IP address anyway. images/smilies/wink.gif

Does your modem have a firewall? Disable that.
